We're all talking about the Death Star. Why can't the new trilogy have....the Life Star?
Or a Star Creator...instead...of...Star Destroyer.
The Death Star represents the modern what now?
Indeed they must. It wouldn't be Star Wars without superweapons.
I don't want to see another Death Star, thank you. At least not one that destroys worlds. Lucas has already mirrored that idea, so two is enough. But something similar to what the aliens had in War of the Worlds, a space based weapon that shorts out electronics on planets, hasn't been used in Star Wars before and sounds like something that the Sith might design. A space station that fires a world enveloping shock wave blast that only effects electronics. You can imagine the crippling damage that would do to a planet in Star Wars, what with all the ships, droids and advanced technology they usually have. But they should call it something else other than the Death Star — even if it sort of looks like one. The Dread Star, perhaps? Or maybe the Star Purger? Anything of that nature, I guess.
What about a Death Star without any weaknesses?
Bleh no Death stars, Or huge super weapons, The OT used that up. Plus the EU has 3.4 planets destroyed per book.
How about a death galaxy- it could attack the galaxy that's only far away
Why can't they create another new space weapon???
What about a more organic threat? Like if a bunch of Sith banded together and pooled their force powers to create one huge force weapon - like a thought bomb from Darth Bane's era?
Usually villains of this caliber have to design something that enables them to be a threat to the galaxy. Otherwise, they're just fanatical terrorists with no real power behind them.
the sphere of fear.
Is that the name of your profile pic?
I hope they don't bring back the Death Star, but if they do, I think they should get the original toy Death star and have little kids on Coruscant playing with them as a memento to the OT.
How about a space station that smells really bad called the Breath Tar?
"Giant Hurtball.. Death Moon... The Death-ticle!"
A Sith designed EMP space weapon is the way they should go. In a highly advanced world of Star Wars, it makes it a logical choice and a good way to cripple their adversaries without having to murder everyone. They could call it the Negator or Star Disruptor, or the Nullifier, or maybe the Enveloper.
And no Sun Crushers or World Devastators either.
Those were ridiculous, anyway. A weapon that defeats an enemy without destroying their world would be the ideal weapon — especially if it's a weapon that creates a shock wave of electricity which spreads across a globe and destroys all living things.
How about a weapon that makes planets strong with the dark side?
aka a Brain Fart
Anyone remember the Force Havester/Dark Reaper from the Clone Wars video game on gamecube? Was a pretty cool concept. Ancient Sith super weapon that could drain the force from its surroundings. Resembled a ufo and shot lightning....ok that last part was a little over the top but anyhooooo something like this could possibly work if we're talking giant weapons.
No Death Star... The Empire ought to be at a point of severe weakness in Episode VII (regardless of long post ROTJ it takes place in), thus they ought not to have the resources to build such a thing. Also, they should learned their lesson about the weaknesses of a Death Star.
Maybe if they re-use Death Stars again it will make it seem more thought-out, like a permanent fixture/motif of the SW universe and less like lazy writing?
We tolerate repeated lightsaber dueling, after all.
