    Pretty bad targeting computer there-we had laser-guided bombs in the 1970s that could make that :p

    The Empire had a lot of control. Even if George had thought of something like the Internet back in the 1970s as mentioned before all they would have to do was trace where it was sent. They more or less say that they knew that Leia's ship received the blueprints for the Death Star.

    Reminds me of the Queen's predicament in The Phantom Menace. It would have been much easier to contact for help, but that would also give their coordinates.
