December Meet Thread

As many of you know the Traditional December Meet for the Rebels is a Group Viewing of the latest Lord of the Rings film. We normally go to the Solomon Pond Mall but given the fact that attendance to meets outside of Boston have been poor of late. I think moving it to the Lowes Theater at Boston Common might be a good idea. However, I don't want to break with our Tradition with out consulting with everyone.

So please post where you would prefer to see the movie. If we decide to stay with the Solomon Pond Mall we can then coordinate transportation so that nobody will be left out.

So here are the details....

Time: Noon

Well, I'll start. I don't have a preference about where we see it because this is the first time in 3 years that I am not flying home to Ohio on this particular Saturday in December.

 

I too scheduled my flight home so not to miss this movie with the Rebels. I would like it to be in Boston Common theatre, but whereever it is, I'll be there.

 

Boston Common sounds good. My dad wouldn't make as much of a fuss about me going since it's closer.

 

Solomon Pond Mall is a lot closer, and thus easier to get to, for me.

I'm going to have to work Friday night and Saturday night, but I might be able to make this one. Again, having it at Solomon Pond Mall would make it much easier for me.

 

If my vote still counts, I say Solomon Pond.

Only for the fact that we decided 2 yrs ago that we would do a meet out west once in awhile for the members who actually live out that way to be able to make the meet.


I like both theaters', so what ever the majority decides is cool.

 

I could do either. Solomon Pond isn't that bad of a drive (unless some clown in a chicken truck rolls over on 495 *cough*lastyear*coughcough*), but I could just as easily take the train and then the T to Loews.

Hmm...come to think of it, the train may already be sold out with people taking it to Boston for the holidays. Well, I just hope we will, in that event, come to a decision more than two weeks before the meet...

Hee hee - so if the latest LOTR movie is a tradition, what are we going to do about our December meet next year??? (Of course, next year, New Line will probably milk it by screening the special editions again...)

Well there is always the possibilty of a DVD marathon of all 3 films somewhere

 

Maybe I will finally have a Big Screen TV next December.

Boston freaks me out to drive in and I'm not all that familiar w/ the T. I'd love to meet you all. Solomon Pond would be AWESOME since that's in my neck of the woods.

Okay, so far we have 3 votes for Solomon Pond Mall and 3 votes for Lowes at the Common with 2 votes saying they don't care( Thanks for being so decisive ).

I say we keep it the vote open through the end of Monday.

My dad said he'd be willing to drive me if the meet is at Solomon Pond mall, so I can go to either theater. I'd just prefer Boston Common.

I will definately be at this meet, and it will be great to see all of you who I haven't seen for far too long.
