Well for the December meet the idea of a holiday feast was mentioned if everyone is in favor of it.

WifeofVader has volunteered her place for this meet.

How does Saturday, December 15th sound?

Let's get some feedback from everyone and we will lock down a date.

15th won't do for me...my brother's over for shopping and my sister has the day off, so that likely means lunch w/ her and her folks, as well. The next day (Sunday the 16th) should be more do-able for me.

I'll be going to Super Megafest, but that will be it for me for awhile, my wife is due the first week of December.

December 16th won't work for me.... K2 has Nutcracker dress rehearsal for her performances in Worcester that day/night.

Since you're the one hosting the shindig WoV, we should just keep the date as the 15th since that's what works best for you.

Saturday, December 15th is really the only date I can roll with due to Nutcracker performances and rehearsals.

This is definitely a family event so, feel free to bring the Ewoks and Wookiee cubs. =D

Time? Well, I usually do dinner around 4....

So, does this sound good? If not, what other suggestions do we have?

    Entering coordinates, DW! =D

    December 15th at 4pm...

Who can come and what can you bring? I will bake a ham and make some home-made fudge for dessert.

I can make up some home made salsa for snacks.

I can make up whatever else we would like to have also.

I can make up some meatloaf or a pot roast with potatoes, onions, carrots or whatever people might like.

That's my Padawan's birthday. Just talked to PinkYaddle and she is not sure what plans we'll have for the day. We'll get back to you.

    Does anyone have any allergies?

I usually cook the ham with cherries and pineapple.

Also, if you have someone on you Holiday list with a sweet tooth, I am happy to make fudge (my room mate's actually trying to get me to sell it at holiday fairs) and a not-so-bad cost.

    Chris,

Thanks for the offer on the Salsa and chips. Sounds like a good appetizer!

As far as the pot roast.... that sounds pretty good too and would give people an option if they are not ham eaters.

Usually, I make the ham and people bring the sides to go with:
    Potatoes
    Carrots
    Green Bean Casserole
    etc.

Oh, and Drew.... we can always have cake for the Padawan for dessert. =)

If it's the 15th for sure I'll go ahead and request it off at work. Well, I'll at least request the evening off. How do I get to this place? Near some sort of public transportation I hope? If not, I'll need to meet someone for a ride.

It is definitely the 15th ... starting sometime around 4 (which means dinner will probably be had between 5 & 6.. LOL).

I will PM you with directions, etc.

So, believe it or not, I am already beginning to plan this event out. As you know, I will provide the Ham but, I need to know how many out there are planning to attend so that I can make sure I buy a large enough ham.

Please let me know if you are planning to attend and what you will be bringing. Thanks!

Oh, and do we want to do a gift swap of sorts where everyone brings a gift of like, I dunno, a $10 value?

    Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I know that we still have Thanksgiving to get through in two days but, believe it or not, our holiday get together is just three weeks away...

I am baking a ham with pineapple/cherry glaze and making home made fudge.

We are going to need the fixings to go with the ham:

    Potatoes
    Vegies
    Beverages
    Dessert
    etc.

Please let me know what you will be bringing.

Also... do we want to do a gift swap or something? I am thinking a max of $10 for the gifts.

Let me know your thoughts and if you will be able to make it!

    I just love the holidays....

If I came, I wouldn't be able to eat very much. I'm Jewish and I keep kosher, so I can't eat any of the ham...

How about we go the Charlie Brown route and have toast, popcorn and jelly beans?

    ;)

I could bring the taters. How many mouths are we looking at feeding?

Ohhh... I think I forgot to mention that.

Please let me know by December 8th if you will be able to attend so that we all know how much food we need to buy/bring....

Mike - I will get a final count to you on the 10th, ok?

I'll be there. I don't know what I'm bringing yet, I'll try to figure that out soon. I'll probably pick up some kind of dessert. I don't really have the cooking facilities to bring something homemade, sorry!

So I requested to work until 2pm that day, which would give me a half hour to get to South Station and catch the 2:30pm train. That would have me in Framingham at 3:15pm. Unfortunately that's the last stop for that particular train. The next train isn't until 4:30pm, and would put me there an hour after that. Is 3:15pm too early to get picked up by some kind soul with a car? The train back that looks good leaves Southborough at 8:40pm and Framingham at 8:50pm.
