I think that polls are kind of pointless and only encourage spamming. I think removing them might generate some quality discussion in C&G.

Nah. They're a quick, simple, and - alright - fairly silly way of seeing what people do, have, think and so on. And their sheer volume means that you get to see people's opinions on the most random things. Keep them

 

Keep the polls, they're fun and make me smile.

No. The games that folks want to play can still take place with the polls around. I like them. They're fun, and a nice way to spend a few minutes here and there, and that's all you should want out of a forum, isn't it?

Stop clinging to the past. The forum has evolved into something that doesn't really NEED polls anymore. Away with them I say.

 

Yes. remove them. They clutter the place up. It makes it harder for me to find the draft game threads that I started.

 

I agree with Inty. I always want to find Balderdash but its buried under the polls.

I'm going to cling to the past with this one. I think they are a valuable apsect of this board, as you don't really get a whole lot of them anywhere else, and regular users can't even make them anymore.

 

Perhaps we could lock all ones created before a certain date, and simply not create very many per month. Set a limit, you know. That would also allow some updated versions of older polls. Since only mods can create polls, they can guarantee the forum doesn't get overrun, but poll fans will still get their democratic fix.
