Wow that was great! I am glad Anakin knows that he would have returned to the light again eventually! I guess it will be a bit much to handle at first though!

Wow... all I can say is Wow! Anakin now knows it all, what could have happened all the way through. Now, can he move on and enjoy his life? Will he finally tell Padme what's going on, and is there anymore Skywalkers in the future?

 

That was truly AMAZING! You wrapped the entire trilogy up in a beautiful little package. I'm glad that Anakin had Obi-wan and Yoda there with him. With everything that he experienced he really needed Yoda's wisdom and Obi-wan's love and support. It took a very brave individual to see this vision to it's conclusion and I hope that Anakin can finally move on and start his healing process.

I remember one time dreaming that my husband was doing something mean and I woke up MAD at him.

Your dream experience cracked me up . Now I'll share one of mine with you. I dreamt that my husband was Hayden (yeah, I know...)only he was also still my husband John( you know how dreams are...) Anyways, my alarm went off and when I woke up I was a little confused. I turned over and my husband had his back to me and for a minute there I got a little freaked out! I was actually worried that it was Hayden next to me and not John! LOL!!!! Weird, huh?! (I did try to go back to sleep though )

?I need to know what happened to Obi-Wan.? Anakin felt Obi-Wan?s surprised pleasure at this. ?The Force tells me that this decision is right for me.? Yes, he does.

A beautiful, snow peaked mountain rose in the distance. Bail Organa stood on the steps to a palace, a young girl at his side. She is perhaps three years old and she watches solemnly as the funeral procession marched by them. Her hand goes up to his and Bail leans down to pick her up in his arms. Tears shine on his cheeks as he murmurs to her, brushing his hand over her neat, brown curls. The little girl begins to sob and buries her face in her father?s shoulder.
Together, father and daughter mourn.

His jaw clenched, Owen?s eyes narrowed as he gave the horizon one last good glare. ?Being a farmer is a hell of a lot safer than whatever that Jedi has in mind for him,? he grumbled. ?Mark my words, Beru, no good will come of that old wizard?s meddling.? He jerked his head off toward the Jundland wastes. ?Luke gets into enough trouble on his own. He doesn?t need some crazy old hermit leading him to more.? He kicked at the sand in his frustration. ?There?s not a damn thing wrong with being a farmer,? he added as he turned to go back inside. No, there isn't. But it isn't right for Luke. As for nothing good coming out of meddling, how about saving the galaxy?

Bail nodded as he gave a look around them to make sure no one was close enough to notice their conversation. Then he patted her hand and prepared to escort the youngest and newest member of the Imperial Senate straight into the lair of the enemy. I love this section, especially this last line.

Halfway between boyhood and being a man, Luke Skywalker stood staring at the smoking ruin of the Lars? homestead. He studied the smoldering corpses sprawled out on the sands. With one last look at the remnants of his old life, Luke turned and got slowly into the speeder, eventually disappearing over the dunes.

The truth is the most terrifying thing of all. Eep. Bet Anakin didn't want to see that...

?Our journey is not done,? Obi-Wan reminded him. ? We cannot know the truth of it all until we have seen it.? Oddly, Obi-Wan?s expression was not troubled, but was as peaceful as ever. Perhaps the Master sensed something that Anakin did not. That thought gave Anakin courage. And he needs it.

The farmboy has been transformed into a hero ? a true Jedi. Wonderful line.

Then Luke does something that no one expected, perhaps not even Luke himself. He stops, hesitates, his blade ready to end the battle. He turns to the Emperor and tosses his saber away. ?I am a Jedi,? he declares, ?like my father before me.? He surrenders to the will of the Force and the shadows recede inside of him until there is nothing left but light. Yes, he is a Jedi.

And then there is light, brighter than the lethal lightning that Palpatine wields so effectively. The light is father and son joining together, one purpose, love binding them. Obsessive love turned Anakin into Vader, and true love turned Vader back into Anakin.

Anakin?s journey has ended. Wonderful line.

So, what's going to happen next? And how you had Bail's wife die is how I imagine the whole "Leia remembers her mother" thing happened.

 

Wow! Most impressive indeed! Nicely done, I liked how Anakin reached out for his master during the part on Bespin (I think). Thanks for the update!

 

Whoa! Talk about a lot for Anakin to process. I admire him for having the courage to continue with the vision. I'm curious how he will react to seeing all these things, though.

Wow. The snippets from Luke and Leia's life are so bittersweet. They really show how they developed to be the characters we love in the OT.

As funny as the line is, and as it echoes from AotC, Owen's comment about Luke being the death of his is heartrenching. For in that universe, it would have been.

I'm glad Anakin saw that things went right at the end for him.

I wouldn't have thought I'd feel so much for Owen, but knowing the relationship between he and Anakin in this story makes me see him in a new light. Nothing wrong with being a farmer! Poor Anakin is going to feel bad about he and Beru's "deaths" too.

 

The mask turns between master and son, between dark and light. A decision is being made in the black heart that beats within the armor, a decision that will resonate throughout the galaxy.

Wow! What beautiful, vivid images you've created here and throughout the whole chapter! It was simply breathtaking, heartwrenching, and utterly magical.

I think that about sums it up.

[b]Chapter 42: A Bridge Between Past and Future [/b]


Anakin sighed with relief as he entered the apartment once more. Padmé looked up and laughed softly, running the short distance to his arms. ?Welcome back,? she murmured just before she kissed him. He trembled slightly as he realized that he ha faced the worst and had come through it. He still had Padmé and their children. Everything else could be worked out in time. Acceptance of what he had seen and learned would come much easier from the security of his family?s embrace.

Gagging sounds made them pull apart. They looked over to see Leia rolling her eyes and Luke choking loudly. ?Stop it, you two,? Leia muttered.

?Yeah, you could scar a kid for life,? Luke added and the twins nodded emphatically with identical motions.

?I?m sure you?ll survive,? Anakin said dryly, pulling his wife even closer.

?Shouldn?t you two be getting ready for dinner?? Padmé asked pointedly, one hand on her hip.

?We heard Dad come in,? Leia said.

?And we wanted to know what he had been doing,? Luke added with a hopeful look at his father.

?Get ready for dinner,? Anakin said quietly, but the twins could tell by the tone of his voice that now was not the moment for arguing with their parents. As one, they turned, their shoulders slumped in dramatic dejection.

Padmé laughed softly as she watched them retreat. ?They?ve missed you,? she murmured as she snuggled up against his chest. ?And they?re not the only ones,? she purred suggestively.

Anakin laughed and swung her around in his arms, making her squeal loudly, before he put her back on her feet.

?We can still hear you!? Leia?s voice came from the far reaches of the apartment.

Covering her mouth and blushing, Padmé gave Anakin a quelling glance. He merely grinned at her before lowering his mouth to her ear to whisper, ?Well, I?m done with what I came to do, so now I am at your disposal.? He nibbled lightly at her ear. ?We can even visit some of your old politician friends,? he added in a martyr?s voice.

Padmé pulled back to look at him and she brushed back his hair. ?Are you [i]truly[/i] finished?? she asked in a tone that made it clear she had a fairly good idea of what he had been doing.

He nodded firmly and then kissed her again for good measure. ?I put some old ghosts to rest, and roused up new ones so that I could confront them head on,? he told her. ?And it seems to have worked.?

?I?m glad,? she said softly.

The Skywalker family enjoyed a quiet dinner with only the four of them. Obi-Wan had begged off, claiming some administrative details that needed attention. Tru had declined as well, giving no excuse at all in typical Tru fashion. Master Yoda had merely claimed to be exhausted by the effort of leading Anakin through the visions, though his step seemed energetic enough as he made his way back to his quarters.

So Anakin spent the evening catching up on his family?s activities while he had been in seclusion, following the lead of the Force. He found himself staring at his children, wondering what they would think of the lives they might have led, and if they thought their lives now were truly better. Then Luke suddenly looked up from his dinner and smiled at Anakin. ?We missed you,? he said quietly, and for Anakin that answered the questions that his visions had raised.

They had been destined to be a family. The Force had led him to Padmé for a reason, and they had had Luke and Leia for a reason. No matter what the Dark Side might have intended him to do with his life, he had made a choice and it had been the right one. Anakin laughed as he watched the twins engage in a friendly argument and he reached over and took hold of Padmé?s hand, taking reassurance from the warmth of it.

All was as it was supposed to be.

?Like most predators, they are more terrifying in herds,? Obi-Wan said dryly.



?A choice between slavery and becoming a Jedi would not be as difficult as leaving behind a loving home,? the older man replied bluntly. ?The choice your children face would be much more difficult ? for everyone. Your mother let you go because she knew that she had to, but Padmé?? His words trailed off, but Anakin knew what Obi-Wan was trying to express.

i'm glad that anakin is reunited with his family and everything is normal !! and i'm glad that luke has taken an interest in the jedi...maybe he'll join ??

I was reading along, relishing my lovely case of the warm fuzzies and then.... and then... I nearly fell out of my chair, Vadey!

What a fantastic update. Oh man, I'm worried about Cliegg, but I do take comfort in the fact that Padme and Anakin are in the JEDI TEMPLE. I think I know where they might be able to find a few good warriors to help them out!

Oooh, I cannot WAIT for the next part.

And how much do I love Luke and Leia? Oh man, a whole heckuva lot. They are SOOOO cute!

 

Nice update. Clieg's abduction came right out of left field! Way to shock your audience.

 

Uh Oh! Cliegg! This will not be good for him! Or for Anakin! I kinda hope we get to see little Luke and Leia in action here!
