    You're saying deep down inside, you've always been an AP fan. Confess it now, or fall forever!!!

    Anyway, I guess it's OK to shut the other one down, then?

    Oh N/A, you're always welcome here

    Why thank you. I think the thread is fun, even though I disagree with about 95% of what's said in it. ;)

    You're saying deep down inside, you've always been an AP fan. Confess it now, or fall forever!!!

    Doh! You've got me! I truly, deeply love the A&P love story, and before I'm cast out of the Basher Sanctuary, I wanted you to know. :p

    Whooo! A convert!!!

    [face_love] [face_love]

    N/A, you know that underneath it all, there are a LOT of Defenders who thought the LS could have been handled better - hense the reason for fan fiction [face_love]

    ***

    Fellow Defenders, remember that inside every Basher, there is a true Star Wars fan at heart. If you concentrate on making positive post about A&P, you might just win someone over!

    On the flip side, we all know the rules about disagreement - if you break them you'll get busted so be nice and GOOD Defender citizens!!

    A quick question - does this mean that our other thread is going to be archived? Oh, I do sincerely hope so....there must be some way to save it, surely....sinc we've got some rippin' fine stuff in there, and I'd truly hate to see it vanish into the ages of memory. I'd like to think that we do deserve a far better fate.... :)

    I thought you weren't about?

    I've been about for about ten minutes or so.

    I don't really have the time to look around or think something up at this time. I just wanted to throw that out there because there is in fandom, as I'm sure you know, a great many controversies that could be discussed rationally without attacking any other poster, person, or group.

    Fan contraversy? Nah, it always 100% of the tme, goes in a bad direction, even if it isn't the intent of those who started the conversation.

    Okay, I just have to admit that WAS pretty funny!!

    See, TOTAL DENIAL!!!

    Total denial? Come on, who hasn't wanted to wipe out the Jedi at least once in a while? I mean, look at them, sitting there in those brown robes, looking all thoughtful.

    <img src=http://www1.theforce.net/jc/icons/thephantommenace/jedi02.gif>

    Who knows what mischief they are thinking up, even now.

    <img src="http://www1.theforce.net/jc/icons/thephantommenace/lobotomy-mace7.gif">
    "What do you mean I can't say ****? Rick McCallum says it all the time? ...What? "PG"!?! **** *****!"

    Meanwhile, Palpatine knows all about family friendly politics. Just look at him celebrating Christmas with the Skywalker family.

    <img src="http://www1.theforce.net/jc/icons/returnofthejedi/PalpatineIcon.jpg">

    Isn't that smile heart warning?

    Well, now, perhaps some "fans" wouldn't be brought up or otherwise mentioned in what's construed as a "bad light" if they did not so often deliberately portray themselves in that same bad light.

    Excuses, and nothing but. Not to mention you're flame-baiting again.

    In other words....we've only been commenting on the obvious - *not* making the proverbial mountains out of molehills....nor have we been exacerbating any sort of troubles by implying that some sort of negative behavior is there, on their part, when it really isn't....because that is, in truth, how they keep coming across.

    See? This is exactly the kind of thing I am warning against, and yet you blatantly ignore it. It's ironic that by trying to rebuttal the rule, you just end up breaking it and making things worse for yourself.

    Anyway, this is a new AP thread, and I don't want to get it started off with a long conversation about rules and warnings. Let's make this thread fun. So, regarding the "film/fans" rule, I've been very clear on where I stand. So now I would ask that take it to me in PM if you have more comments/questions.

    After all, it's what Palpatine would do

    *yawning serenely, at ease and feeling like a contented cat after a lovely day* H'm, h'm....what was it Black Veiny Willow said once.... "Bored now", that's it....though actually, her evil vampire doppleganger also said it at one point.... (and I've gotten quite good at it, I must say, 'specially the tone....) *happy purr* Love it, I do....then again, any opportunity I take at any time in my life, any and every day, to work some Buffy in there - and when it's both Buffy and SW-pertinent to boot....well, now, that really is the most sublimely delicious thing, as I see it. And this reminds me as well - I suppose that in talking about Buffy and SW references, the fact that the band responsible for its theme is called Nerf Herder says pretty much *everything* we need to know right there.... :D

    I have been wracking my brain, trying to think of any "Firefly" SW references....would anyone like to help me out here? :) Oh....and anyone else who watches The Daily Show, with Jon Stewart....I'm sure you'll agree that he's had his fair share of marvellous SW references....and of course, every time I tune in to one show or another and happen to catch stuff like this - it tickles me so completely that I nearly fall off the bed. ;) One can never possibly tire of it, truly....

    Shouldn't have we called it Revenge of the Defenders of the A&P Love Story :p?

    Maybe the next time.

    To answer jediES's second question re Hayden, it's a little hard to say. I admit the only reason why I tuned into a Higher Ground marathon on Fox Family in 2000 was to check out the rookie; otherwise I never would have watched it. It was a teen show and I was a little past its demographics group. But I thought Hayden was a charismatic performer and absolutely the right guy to be Anakin. I rented Life As A House in April 2002, a few weeks before Celebration II and I was really impressed with his performance. So, SW certainly led me to see his other work first. But there are other actors I like a lot that never were in a SW film.

    I liked both Higher Ground and Life As A House. I think Hayden was good in both places. I wish Higher Ground would come to DVD.

    Oh, and what's all this I hear about "Access Hollywood" being the first to premiere even a quick look, whatever sort it might be, at the ROTS trailer next month....sooner than we think, indeed....why, the very notion in and of itself is enough to make me totally, happily geek out. :) Less than *seven* mere months to go now, can you believe it? I remember when we were marking the full one-year timeframe....now we've less than seven months to go....and when you consider the glorious fact that a month is made up of basically just thirty days, give or take, and each day is made up of only twenty-four hours....and what's in an hour, really, but just sixty minutes....and one lonely minute is nothing more than sixty mere seconds....and suddenly, yeah, taking all that into happy, triumphant consideration - seven months really starts to seem like a pretty insignificant timeframe after all....and I can think of few things so delightful or encouraging as that entirely heartening fact. :D

    Still do think we're likely to see the trailer airing on the regular news, though....very, *very* good chance of it....h'm, h'm, I wonder if we can lobby our local stations extra-hard for that, when it does finally come out? ;)

    And I of course *entirely*, fiercely, passionately, wholeheartedly agree and wholly sympathize, anidan - aye, if "Higher Ground" *doesn't* come out on DVD sooner rather than later, I might very well pop a blood vessel....or, you know....else do something equally drastic. ;) Honestly, with so many TV shows coming to DVD right, left, centre and sideways - what the heck are they waiting for with "Higher Ground"?! It's insane to put us through this....insane, I tell you....is there anyone we can complain/lobby to? There's still so much HG that I've missed....wah.... *cuddles poor, angsty, cute, entirely adorable and irresistible Scott*

    Well, I haven't posted at the JC in well nigh a year - and I've made a couple of attempts at being an actively posting Defender which both fizzled out when I grew disenchanted with the JC. But in the past weeks I've become an avid lurker here again, and I finally decided, heck, it's a new thread - if I've got the time to lurk regularly, I've got the time to post, right? :D P/A has always been my OTP, and there are all too few places out there to gush and squee over them. I do see a couple of you outside here (*waves at MissPadme and anakin_girl*) but it'd be nice to become a part of this group again. :)

    So... got room for another devoted P/A-er? :D

    The current topic of discussion is Hayden, I see. Like MissPadme, the only reason I checked into Higher Ground or LAAH was to scope him out as an actor - almost immediately I knew they'd done well. He was the main thing that made HG worth watching at all, and of course he was great in LAAH. To this day it baffles me how people can see him in LAAH and rave about how incredible his performance is there, yet many of these same people can completely dismiss his performance in AotC. Yes, I do think his LAAH performance edges out AotC's, but not by that dramatic a margin, especially considering all the different past performances he had to take into account when playing Anakin at the time period he was. I'm completely happy with how he handled the role. Someone earlier mentioned his ability to go from playful to intense in an instant; that's a huge part of his appeal to me - every emotion he portrays, you feel it. (I'll admit that outside his role as Anakin, I don't find him quite as attractive - I like a guy who's not as pale as I am, thanks. ;)) The eyes are probably the biggest part - I lost count of how many times he either made me turn into a puddle of goo and/or shrink away from the screen just by looking. I generally care little about any actors outside their characters, but I admit there is something special about him. :)

    A new home and all cozy too! [face_love]

    I too admit that the main reason I checked out LAAH was because of Hayden. =P~ And you know what? I was blown away at his performance. Sure, I could see Anakin in Sam?s eyes (the temperament similarities) but Hayden did an outstanding job in that movie. Had I never heard of him before I would have still been impressed.

    Woo! Shiny new thread!! :D

    Hayden in "Higher Ground"... too funny. I know it's not supposed to be, but Scott cries every episode. [face_laugh] Aww... Hayden's such a sport (and a damn good crier). ;) I do hope it comes out on DVD though... a small market, but a dedicated one.

    Aaaaaaahhh, it's confirmed, apparently....the trailer *will* be with "The Incredibles" (though really, we'd pretty much already known it....guess we were just waiting on the official word, though, right?) - and now I fear that I'll have to give this one some serious mulling-over....what to do, what to do....ergh, it reminds me of going to see "Ice Age" and well-suspecting going in that they'd have an AOTC trailer in front of it - so when I realized at one point, from the barest, most fleetingly instantaneous split-second of the start of the trailer (even just the first logos, for pity's sake!) just what was going on....I immediately clamped tight-shut my eyes, already had my Discman goin' and the headphones in my ears, and I promptly turned the music up, kept my eyes shut....and couldn't watch nor hear a second of all the tantalizing action. So, you know....clearly I'd have practice, then, if I were to resort to anything like that again, this time around. ;) *thoughtful* What to do, what to do....
    And, RebelScum - hey, the poor kid really had a lot to be angsty and even crying over (not "every" episode, mind you ;) - but still....) - after all, he was pretty seriously damaged there....and yet - still just *so* immensely cuddle-able and appealing....and, really....don't you just want to hug and soothe him and take away all the pain....the poor dear.... :D *Scott love*

    Yup, just saw it on the official site...Hyperspace members will get first crack at it the afternoon of November 4. They didn't say afternoon in which time zone though :mad:. Then it will debut on t.v. the evening of the 4th, presumably on Access Hollywood as rumored. Then it will debut in (select) theaters with The Incredibles on November 5.

    I was participating at the AOTC Chapter discussion and Darth Marky Mark mentioned that Anakin and Padme getting married quickly, could be GL's way of showing how during the World Wars, how couples got married before their spouse goes off to war.

    I didn't think of that, and I found it very perceptive. What you say?

    ...and can't wait for the Trailer. Should be in the net very soon after that [face_devil]
