If the aussie of the year - the Pastryman himself - were musing on Archie and other ponderings in your kitchen, what would you ask (nay, beseech) Sir Guus to whip up for you?

I'm a simple butter croissant man myself. The Dutch master would rip one straight out of his twisted genius lathered in condiments or probably best enjoyed UNADULTERATED.

So the question posed, what would you ask his lordship of pastry to cook for you, should you be so honoured?

A typical dutch pastry would be ollebollen with or without fruit.

Even made better by the fact that they're deep fried. Kinda like a ball doughnut without a hole.

Very fattening & high in cholesterol.

    How about a rollmop... a salted/pickled herring ??

my childhood is coming back to me.....

JE and I discussed pastry at GREAT LENGTH last night and let me tell you, we had the wisdom of Guus on hand, nay RIGHT BLOODY THERE IN FRONT OF US to draw on!! to inspire us! to get some crust, it's a must!!

corr, blimey, what a danish. Archie was beaming, I was impressed, the kids were well fed, who could complain?

Not Guus, the pastryman was doing far too well. What a smile.
