Honestly . . . it's sad. Maybe on the state or local level you could find some. But there used to be. It feels like within living memory when there were Republicans that weren't hypocrites and/or bigots. So sad.

Edit: Rogue1-and-a-half - My current mayor seems relatively sane and he's a Republican. He supports bringing Lightrail to our city and he endorsed McAuliffe for Gov. (to be fair though given the choices were McAuliffe, crazy pants Cuccinelli, and an Independent most likely never heard of, I'd have endorsed the McAuliffe too.)

 

It seems most Republicans are bat guano nowadays.

 

Susan Collins, Rob Portman, Mark Kirk, and Brian Sandoval seem alright too.

 

I'm not going to try to quote that because it's jacked up enough as it is. But I'm not sure you can argue this as an entirely perceptual issue. The Republicans are quite open and honest about many of their most jacked up agendas. They don't support gay rights, they don't support contraception, they support massive deregulation of corporations. I mean, do you agree with all of that? I think most Republicans would agree with that. And all of those ideas are bat-****.

Partially provably bat-**** actually given that they have been given the opportunity to create a compelling social and legal case against gay rights and didn't and the last time they did a massive de-regulation, we ended up with the biggest economic downturn since the Great Depression.
