I've always found it curious that somehow A Christmas Story isn't racist, but everyone who references the Chinese restaurant scene is. I mean, is it a bit skeezy to make jokes about that scene? Sure. Okay I can see he similarities in as far as the whole jobs for everyone thing (sort of) but aside from blaming and then killing those he considered less than human, the dude didn't actually muck up the country - the war did that. I wonder if the sponsors of this bill would have a problem with gay business owners refusing to serve religious patrons. I mean, turnabout is fair play, right?

 

And it's not just Georgia. Right now Mississippi, North Carolina, Arizona, Idaho, Kansas, Maine, and various others are trying to disguise a right to discriminate as a shield for religion.

 

I think that gay business owners in each of those states should be allowed to refuse service to conservative Christians. When they get sued, I want to see them go to the Supreme Court and make an equal protection argument, ie "They can refuse to serve us based on their beliefs; we should be allowed to refuse to serve them based on ours." They should then also claim that being gay is a religion, just to irritate those who want to discriminate against them.

It would be fun to watch.
