The old fallacy that everything that happens on Earth is controlled by God has done more damage to the world than I can even imagine. A rape is no more a gift from God than cancer or a brain aneurysm or a stubbed toe is. God didn't magically send that rapist or magically cause the rape to result in pregnancy. Some person was horrible and decided to rape a woman and then biological processes happened and it resulted in a pregnancy. The world has not been carefully calculated and controlled by God in every way. I believe in God, but if you go strictly by what the Bible says, which some people do, it very clearly says that God created the world and then gave it into the hands of humanity to control it. Believing that everything that happens on earth is God's will is morally odious whether you're trying to blame God or praise Him. We do not live in the best of all possible worlds. "Whatever is/is right;" go **** yourself.

 

Oh I know. It's just the SU fandom is the worst out of all of them. I have nothing against the show. I simply can't stand the show's Tumblr fandom. Yes it is a progressive cartoon and I know Tumblr loves that but at the end of the day it is a kid's show. Steven Universe isn't meant for the progressive SJW crowd that runs around on Tumblr. The show is for 8-11 year olds. It's for little kids. Little kids are not looking at Garnet and saying, "She must be coded black because she wears an afro!" Children don't watch the show for its progressive ideals or lack of thereof. They watch it because they like it and because its meant for them.

Plus I cannot respect a fandom that caused two people to attempt suicide. I just can't.

The show is great! I love it and draw fan art of it and I have multiple Gemsonas! I really wanna put together a Peridot cosplay!

But the fandom has the darkest and nastiest side I have ever seen. Not all of the fandom is like that and I've managed to avoid a good chunk of the head-up-own-ass portion, but I've seen enough of it through searching headcanons and what the Amedot shippers did to Lauren Zuke. Disgusting.
