Very satisfying ending, with everyone happy and on the light side.

Though it would have been nicer if Obi-Wan was Xanatos' apprentice in or out of the Jedi order ;) - the one person who wanted him from the start, even when he was on the dark side. At least, he's still a big part of Obi-Wan's life!

Thank you so much for reading and taking this journey with me! [face_love] I can't believe I've been writing this for 8 months. I am so glad I discovered Xan, he is such a wonderful villain. I first discovered him in the Archives here. (I'll have to look that one up and put a link to it, I loved it!) It was the one where Xan kidnaps Obi-Wan and enslaves him :p And then looking around here, of course I was led right to o_e's fics :p

I am going to continue with another Xan fic but in a different era that o_e and Noi have suggested [face_batting]

    GKilKenny

Thank you so much for stopping in! [:D] I did want to make a transformation of both Xan and Qui. Thanks for reading!

    Star Drifter

And what a wonderful family to have [face_love] Warning mush ahead: Read at Your OWN RISK: And I think we also have a wonderful family here on the boards. :)

    Altaira

You are so right, Xan brings out the best in Obi-Wan [face_love] Thanks for taking this journey with me. I think Obi-Wan is going to receive an interesting education [face_mischief]

    Noi

    One thing: [:D]

    o_e

Thanks for helping me brainstorm with the next. [face_love] Obi-Wan is very bonded to Xan and I think they are going to be inseparable ;)

    May

Congrats on your awards [:D] my Paddy Neice! Next story, Xan and Obi-Wan are of similar ages [face_mischief] I wonder with Xan's transformation, how he would react to the mission of Qui. Qui simply adores him, I hope I brought that out [face_worried]

Would he slowly slide back to the darkness? I don't think so with this story, because Obi-Wan is such a bright light in his life....and in case no one knows- [face_whistling]---Obi-Wan Won! :)

    Kyn

Thank you so much for all your support, my Paddy Sis! [face_love]

His family, what a wonderful family! :D

    Jacen

You get the lurker dance! [face_dancing] Thank you so much for stopping in! *HUGE BEAR HUG!*

[face_worried] I've probably scared all other lurkers away now! 8-} Thanks again Jacen!

    PK
I love seeing you pop in! :D

    salem-aubrey

Thank you so much you two! Thanks for your support! [face_love]

    Jenna

Thanks for reading, I can't tell you how much that means to me! :)

    forever_jedi

AH! You must have seen my struggle with this. I love Xan and Obi together too. But when I started I was thinking of a fic I wrote where Xan and Qui keep in touch and try to reconcile. So I wanted to make that a part of the story, and from what I've read of the JA, I've always wanted those two to get back together :p Although I have a soft mushy spot for forgiveness. :p

    I really appreciate your review!

    KILIK

Thanks for stopping in! [:D] I was thinking I lost you! [face_worried] When I saw your name I---:)

    Katana

The forgiveness part made me do that too [face_blush] I'm currently reconciling with part of my family, :D and it just seemed to flow so beautifully. Life is too short!

Thanks again to all of you for making my day! It is so wonderful of you to take time out of your lives and read my scribblings!

Great work. I liked these parts a lot?

Feeling a strong call through the Force, he followed the corridor to the place of the call. A desperate call. But it was not the call of the young boy, or his wayward former Padawan. It was a call of pain, fear and uncertainty. Certainly it could not be the one whose singular Force presence called out to him with insistency. He felt a sense of urgency as he moved towards the call.

The smell of rancid imprisonment cells came to him long before he arrived. In the darkness, Qui-Gon knew what he would find, though he could not, would not, acknowledge it consciously. "Master?" Qui-Gon whispered. But there was no response.

He saw the still form lying on the ground. Qui-Gon's heart stopped. He was too late. Too late, once again. The prison door was blasted open. The guard that had escorted Thrak and himself moments before, lay dead and bleeding beside Dooku.

Obi-Wan watched the stars begin to pop up sporadically in the evening sky, blinking down at him from the reaches of space. Xanatos said he had business to attend to and needed to speak to his business associates alone. Obi-Wan had watched him reluctantly as he entered the forest, Xanatos had the comm clutched in his palm, speaking in a low, incomprehensible whisper.

Obi-Wan felt suddenly melancholy as he was left alone, once again. Already he missed the bond, and missed Xanatos.

Ah, but I am ever with you now.

Obi-Wan's face curved up into a smile. Of course, Xanatos was always there now. Suddenly the forest surrounding him seemed more inviting, more welcoming than they had ever seemed before. He felt for the first time that he was home. This was his home. And Xanatos did care deeply for him. They had an instant bond, perhaps from the moment their lives had so uncertainly collided.

The bond he experienced was much more fulfilling than even the peace that he had lost. The feeling that he was never alone. Perhaps the Force always opened a gateway, when another closed irretrievably.

And the darkness promised him much more. The promise of power, and freedom from all the confines placed upon him. He had seen it all in Xanatos' mind.

Be had seen other aspects of Xanatos, other than power: Loyalty, courage and something he wasn't sure even Xanatos knew was within him,. Love. Xanatos had loved Qui-Gon. It burned brightly in the background of his consciousness, perhaps even unknown by the former Jedi. But Obi-Wan had seen it. And he had seen love for himself too. Deep devotion uncharacteristic of the darkness. But he knew Xanatos would deny it, if confronted.

Obi-Wan folded his fingers together in thought. Xanatos wanted him to more completely embrace the darkness. Said the anger he felt was natural, an inevitable part of life we were meant to use and embrace. Tonight they would spar again, and Xanatos had told him that his life would never be the same again.

Xanatos told him there was infinitely more power for him to learn. And of course, with their new bond, he would help him to gain it. It would embrace him completely.

Obi-Wan traced a circle in the dirt with his finger, and looked up expecting Xanatos when he heard a noise coming from the forest. He reached out for his new Master. But no response came back.

Qui-Gon ran to the bank of the river, and met the eyes of Xanatos. It was not Thrak, those dark blue eyes of so long ago, had tears in them. Apparent even in the rain. This seemed to touch something deep inside of Qui, something, he had not touched in ages.

Xanatos looked up at him, the shock and terror he didn't even bother to shield. Qui-Gon wasted no time in entering the river to help him.

Together, they cradled the young boy and brought him to shore. A pulse and breath clung tenuously to the child. "What are you....?" Xanatos words failed as they worked together to bring Obi-Wan to the compound.

Xanatos deactivated the locks and they brought Obi-Wan out of the rain and into the warmth of the hall. Qui-Gon reached down for Obi-Wan's pulse. Still there..
