And that's just Europe and North America. South America, Africa, Australia and Asia have so many untold possibilities, too. If the first Fantastic Beasts will be in America, I hope that the second and third will have Newt go to the other continents.

As in did you prefer her dying in her cage or sacrificing herself to protect Harry

    I preferred the latter.

As for America, I wonder how the American Revolution would have affected wizards in both countries. Would pure-blood American wizards have favored independence or remaining with Britain, or just remained neutral?

Yeah, I do too. I like the old UK adult covers as well.

I'm re-reading these right now and Half-Blood Prince is better than I remembered it.

"I don't want to rest. I want to find McLaggen and kill him."
"I'm afraid that would fall under 'overexertion."

"I see six years of magical education has not been wasted on you, Potter. Ghosts are transparent."

J.K. Rowling cannot write romance but she has a fantastic sense of humor which I prefer anyway.

I don't care if my tea leaves say "die, Ron, die," I'm chucking them right in the bin where they belong.

When I taught middle school, which was in the days when only books 1-5 had been released, my students and I once covered the white board with funny Harry Potter quotes.

"My one brother, Aberforth, was prosecuted for practicing inappropriate charms on a goat. It was all over the papers, but did Aberforth hide? No, he did not, he held his head high and went about his business as usual! Of course I'm not entirely sure he can read, so that might not have been bravery..."

Double post but forgot to add how well Rowling can write deaths.

I wish I could hire her to write my eulogy when my time comes.

Humor, character deaths and action sequences seem to be her strongest points, along with really compelling mysteries.

I hope we eventually get a Rowling penned.... something of Harry, Ron and Herminone approaching middle age and just sitting around bickering.

Re-reading The Deathly Hallows for the first time since 2007.

I think it's because a couple of weeks ago I lost my cat that I raised from a kitten, but I had a really, really hard time with Hedwig's death.

(*OK anakinfan get through the emotional **** and just read the damn book until more emotional **** reboots at the end*)

Some humor someone shared on my facebook a few days ago...Hope none of you are put off by the feminism in it as a lot on wed seemed to be.

Without Hermione, The Boy Who lived would have been dead as ***t.
Ron came to mind:"And leave Hermione? Are you mad? We wouldn't last two days without her! ..Don't tell her I said that." [face_laugh]

Side note Happy Birthday Jo & Harry!!!!!!![face_party]

Each time I do a rereading, I hate Ron a little bit more. Such a daft, dim, tool. I'm glad Rowling regrets pairing that dumb**** with Hermione.

But she's not really all that compatible with Harry either. And Harry pretty much says so in GOF.

Opposites sometimes attract, and we can't choose whom we love. At least Ron is kind-hearted, loyal and honest... and brave under pressure.

I wasn't implying that Hermione should've gotten together with Harry. I just really don't like Ron. Like, he's worse than Donald Trump.
