I'm not sure why two of my diaries are in orange. A Journal of a Free Woman has three entries in January and I just updated it today, and A Muggle in Wonderland also has three entries in January and I updated on February 1. I know I sent the sock messages for them. I thought we only had to do two entries per month?

I forgot to add in the color coding for updates. Orange means the diary has not been updated for two weeks. Just means you have until the end of the month to get the second update up. You should worry if the diary falls in the red. If I have to remind you three times to update the diary then the fourth time I automatically take the diary out of the challenge. It's in the rules...

You can update more then twice during the month but that third update doesn't count towards the next month. You still need two updates during each month.

The index will be sorted by era and title. The color coding is as follows:

Green = within the updating schedule
Orange = 14 days without an update.
Red = one month without update, you have 7 days to update, or you're out of the challenge

I didn't necessarily get to this month's challenge with my recent entry, as I ended up concentrating more on experimenting with styles. This round has me playing around more with different document styles and methods of writing, and I'm having a lot of fun with it.

I am actually in the same boat, TrakNar. There isn't much passion that 11 year old children are capable of. However, I did start alluding to the illicit relationship in Black Team in the Spartan Journal.

Oh, the Joker had a crime that was definitely full of passion, though!

Have her deal with someone who is sick then? I'm certain she has an insurmountable knowledge on old remedies she could offer the ailing person :p

Dooku has yet to be sick. Oh he's gonna love his childhood for sure. Attacked by a mad padawan, therapy sessions with a mind-healer, a bully Zabrak to deal with, and now the Healers ward yet again. Poor guy. No wonder he went all dark in his later years!

I'm going to count the aftermath of Zuckuss's tumble down the stairs as his "sick day."

Spartans having a sick day? Oh, this should go as well as the first three days of my pneumonia in Basic Training... BEFORE they sent me to the hospital.

Oh. The challenge fits in great with my next entry - Ben and Luke take a 'sick day', though neither one of them is physically ill.

    Does having a hangover count?

I would think so, although that would be more like a "self-poisoning" sickness... but I digress. :p

    self poisoning

I remember my cousin was wasted at his brothers stag and doe. He was way too friendly with the cops as they helped him to my cousin's car. We barely made it back to my cousins house before he crawled out of the car and started puking on the grass, What a fun night that was. We stood around the toilet making fun of him as he continued to puke.

My cousin: You're family and supposed to sympathize
My cousin (his dads response) not when you did it to yourself.
Me you're on your own Matt.

Yeah go ahead, hang overs are to fun to make fun of.

Hangovers are no fun. I don't drink now, but when I was in the Army I would have a few. One night I went to a promotion party and had a couple too many. The next morning I was to board a bus to Atlantic City for this tour the Army Recreation office planned, but we shared the bus with civilians. So I was sitting with a bunch of 70 and 80 year old women from some knitting club that were going to the casinos. The cramped space and movement of the vehicle got to me to I ended up going to the bathroom and puking. I come out and the little old ladies started teasing me.

"Oh ladies I think we have a pregnant one here." One senior citizen said.

I tell them I'm not pregnant. But they won't let up and during the six hour drive these silver haired women made fun of me for drinking too much and having a hangover. It was like getting verbally abused by two dozen Betty Whites.

If I put that in a fanfic nobody would believe it.

[face_rofl] Oh, I love Betty White. She's a real hoot.

I've never been a heavy drinker. One glass of wine on an empty stomach, and I'm light headed... the same with two on a full stomach. So, I haven't had experience with hangovers. However, I've had a triple whammy of a serious migraine and sinus and ear infection induced headache... now talk about throwing up. I never knew I had that much liquid in me!

I would. I served as the supply puppy of an infantry company for the first four years of my career. You want to talk about drinking... We had one annual training with the Princess of Wales Royal Regiment (Brit Nation Guard) that ended with a rather comical scene. I won't go into too much detail, but I will say that one guy was hanging over his bunk puking into his own boots...

My First Sergeant had me and our medic running down the line of bunks in the morning popping everyone with an IV, whether they needed it or not. Later that morning, we began a bright sunny convoy from Yakima down through BIAK in Pendleton Oregon and back to the Oregon Coast... 100 degree day with not a cloud in sight. After two accidental spills, the C.O. told us to take the doors off the HMMWVs for cleanliness sake.

I always got in weird situations after partying too much. One time I had a helicopter flight at 8AM. The Army pilot had me put on earphones and he was cranking Flight of the Valkyries as he went up really high and then came swooping down into a canyon. I thought I was going to die.

I should put that in my fanfic.

Write anything! I'm dealing with a tricky part with mine, so until I manage to hammer out some more details, I have some filler already drafted up.

The deadline for his story is a week past due and will be downgraded to a dead diary.

Sorry to hear that Moose but thanks for the heads up

Dang, that's a shame. Well, I guess a piece of advice I would offer is to have a couple of all-purpose filler entries on hand, just in case. I have a few dozen from my old diary that I could repurpose as filler.

That's sad. But yeah. Filler entries can be handy, even if it's just Dear Diary, Nothing happened today. It was very boring.

But I always like to have a few buffer entries. Sure I very rarely participate in the mini challenges because I'm usually a writing a month ahead, so I'm safe, even when a month like august comes around and when I'll only be in town every second week.

I need some ideas for April's challenge but I'm leaning towards pulling pranks which would be a fun read.

If anyone else has any ideas, I'm open to suggestions :D
