Challenge Diary Challenge Thread 2012 Important annoucement please read and respond

This challenge was created in 2007 by the_wandering-shadow. It was/is such great fun, that it should be done again...and again and again and again. Now under a sock to ward of DRL, so if something happens to your current host (JediFalcon) the thread will go on anyway.

Teh Rulez:

1)
You have to keep the diary of a character for a whole year. It does not matter if it's canon cast or OC, AU, non-Star Wars, whatever. Write the diary of a droid, surprise us all. There was a diary of Yoda's Lightsaber once. Nothing's impossible!

2)
You have to update a least twice a month. You can update as often as you want. Just remember you need to have enough story left for the rest of the year.

3)
The length of the updates does not matter. Write a paragraph, write pages, do what you want. Just do it.

4)
I'm the keeper of the documents, meaning the Indexer. If you fail to update for a month, I'll send you a reminder and give you another week to update. This means seven days from the missed month update, not seven days from the date of the PM. For example, if your diary was last updated on March 3, and you haven't updated in 31 days - April 3 (NOTE: the number of days is subject to the number days in a given month, so if you last updated in February, it would be 28 days +7), you would have until April 10 to update, regardless if I failed to PM you until the fifth of April. If you fail to update after the extended 7 days, you're out. NO Exceptions! If you want to do NaNo, keep that in mind. Do some updates up in front, you'll be amazed how little time to write you might have.

No posting (and writing) until January 1st 2012
Think and talk as much as you want though.

7)
There will be a mini-challenge each month. I will give you a theme or topic to integrate into the diary. It is NOT obligatory, just something to get your imagination running.

8)
If you failed to update for a month three times, the next time you don't update for a month, the diary will automatically drop out of the challenge. It does not matter if that three times are in a row or scattered across the year.

9)
Voting for the winner will be in the first two weeks of January. Everybody may vote, so invite your readers to do so, and everybody you know.

Oh yay. It's up. I hope I can keep my diary running this year.

 

Sweet! I'm going to try something different this time! And hopefully I will get all the way through the year with this!

 

I'm backing out of the baords, so I won't be back. The planned sequel to WoW is cancelled.
But I will soon finish both diraies I started for this year.

 

Sign me up! I'm just hoping I'll last longer than I did this year.

I did so feel bummed at the loss of the Dr. Who diary and the superlicious mush that was "Newlyweds".

Also apologize for dropping mine !! but this next year I'll need a very large bucket to hold my vaporized components because I'll be doing a Kyp Durron diary (num tummy)

 

Oh sweet Jade, I look forward to the story already Kyp is one of my favorite characters

I have one diary in mind maybe two this year, not entirely sure but sure on the one. I decided to continue last years into the Rebellion years.

In less then one month the poles will be open to vote for your favorite diary.

Plan and talk all you want but remember you can't post until January 01st 2012

I am in it for this year.

 

It's looks like, dispite all odds, I am actually going to finish this year.

I haven't decided yet if I am going to do it for 2012. I have an idea for a Beru Lars diary, but I am going to have so much on my plate in 2012, I doubt that I'd be able to keep it up, along with all my other ideas. I might take a break for a year and come back in 2013.

 

I had an idea for a diary, but I just don't think I'm cut out to write something for an entire year. I have too much fic ADD.

 

Briann! A Beru Lars diary sounds AMAZING! Keep that thought even if it's delayed a year

JM77 -- I would be bummed if I didn't know some of what spectacularness you have on your silver platter fic-wise

 

I've always thought of her as the unsung hero of the galaxy. She deserves more recognition.

Plus, who can resist a baby Luke!

I made the decision to enter this year at the spur of the moment, so we will see how much I am willing to to take on in January.

Nah not weird at all. As long as you can keep it going for the year, I say go for it

 

I've got an idea, I think I'm going to try this next year.

 

Write the diary of R2D2! It would be the most sarcastic diary ever!!


On another note, I think I will write a diary this year. I think I can handle a few paragraphs every 2 weeks. The updates won't be nearly as long as I did them this year.

 

You read my mind, Bri. I was thinking about Artoo's diary throughout the OT. Now I need to watch the OT and take notes.

And I'm really looking forward to your diary.

 

Now I'm debating whether to do my diary or not. LOL. I really love my idea, but I don't think I can commit to super long updates. It'll probably be a spur of the moment decision.

 

ever get the feeling the droids memory was never wiped at all? Luke stumbled across a recording from Padme to Anakin. And with Ghent's help, the recovered a couple of recordings. Eventually Luke and Leia dicovered who the mother was.

I think a diary of Artoo would be awesome

 

JM77, they don't have to be long or wordy. Nat did a hilarious Very Secret Diary of Darth Vader -- sometimes they was just one paragraph, more like drabble-sized and woohoo! Funny stuff!

He kept harping about the lack of a cappuccino machine in the VIP lounge of the Executor and as I recall there was something about a pet bantha

 

I must find this diary. It is now a priority.
