FF:QLD Dictators and evil desposts

How did such desposts as Hitler, Palpatine (keeping in flavour with the boards), Mao etc gain such a hypnotic hold over thier respective citizenry?. Currently I am reading a great book entitled "Great Speeches of the 20th Century" and I have noticed that all great leaders are adept at using words to inspire and motivate and manipulate people. So if you want to be an evil despot, choose yours words carefully . Now my minions, give all of your money to me , I will spend it wisely and then give you interest on your money .

 

You'll have to do better than that I'm afraid to gain our trust.

 

It's simple really. They just promise people a better standard of living. And the people don't have to think or try, they just do what they're told and everything will be ok.

It's amazing what 'people' will do to avoid responsibility.

 

Your thread ate my post - first time that's ever happened . Might have been due to the excessive use of smileys in a political speech. That usually does it.

 

Myhaps it's all those other funny lookig cody things you use... I don't even know what they are to tell the truth ?

 

Because most people are stupid and that is why democracy will never work.

 

No system ever will in truth cause you just can't please everybody all the time but for the most part democracy is the most fairest system to date. Unless you have a better idea then by all means voice it.

Being evil isn't all its crack up to be. Sure there is the high that you get when you know that you are above everyone else but soon things gets rather droll and you have to find even more evil things to do. And in the end you eventually die in a rather painful or suffering manner.

I think a big thing with these evil Dictators is to pick a minority and blame all the countries problems on them.

 

It does no good to blame others for eventually you will run out of people to blame.
