PT Did Anakin/Vader care at all that the Clone War was a complete lie?

Greater good?

Sidious was the one corrupting the Senators.Sidious was the one that put the TF up to invading Naboo so that he would be made chancellor. Sidious was the one that created a separatist movement. He had bounty killers try to assassinate Padme. He started the war so he could become a dictator.

The Sith lord was known to be behind everything. Anakin was the one who discovered his identity and acknowledged that Palpatine was behind everything, including the war.

 

The corruption existed without Sidious. Sidious didn't create the concept of political corruption, he just utilized it for his own ends. It's true that Sidious made all those problems worse, but that's only so (in his mind) they would ultimately get better. Sidious is something of a political accelerationist. Or at least that's how he presents himself. Really, for Sidious, it's all about the pure accumulation of personal power, but I don't believe Anakin fully realizes that until the very end.

 

We were talking about Anakin ignoring obvious truths and agreeing to kill his Jedi brothers and sisters for the greater good. Not about how Sidious sees himself. And he doesn't present himself as the solution to senate corruption. He presents himself as someone who wants the Jedi gone and offers Anakin greater powers in return for helping him achieve this.

Anakin doesn't kill the Jedi younglings because of the existence of political corruption. It was known to the Jedi by the beginning of ROTS that a sith lord was behind corrupting and dividing the senate, creating a separatist movement and starting a war. Anakin found out who it was. But when he was told that he could save his wife he decided that it was the Jedi who were the cause of all the problems and would cause further problems if they weren't wiped out.
