Mine is pretty simple: He retired after VotF and raised cattle on some farm, venturing out only for the odd reunion.

Bel Iblis, and no, I haven't heard anything regarding him at all in the NJO. I assume he, like the other major admirals (Ackbar, drayson, etc.), retired with the imperial peace treaty.

There's no way dodonna's alive still, but you'd think that'd be mentioned wouldn't you? I think rieeken would still be alive, he was only, what, early-mid 40s in ESB.

To me Bel Iblis never looked like the guy to retire.He's a workaholic.Probably rebuilt his private army.But hey I haven't read SbS.
