    He dies in the movie

No, he began learning a new definition of pain and suffering as he was slowly digested over a period 1,000 years. ;)

Wow, this topic is still open.

Yes. He died. Watch episode VI, and you'll see the bit where he meets his death. From a story standpoint it makes no sense that he "survived", since episode VI was the last story. (I don't count comic books, graphic novels, embarrassing fan fiction and embarrassing fan movies, those aren't canon.)

Slowly digested over a 1,000 years doesn't mean you're alive the whole time.

    He died.

    He died.

    He died.

If you hold to EU, he lives. I could direct you to some books where he's still up an' at 'em. If you don't hold to EU... then I think he's probably dead.

George Lucas created the prequel trilogy. Why should we listen to him?

Boba Fett isn't dead. He is like 73 years old and is still Mandalore.

If the DVD commentary is any indication, Lucas considered putting a scene demonstrating Fett's survival on the DVD, but decided it "wouldn't fit" or words to that effect. As of 2008, does Lucas believe Fett died in ROTJ? Who knows?

For those of you who believe he survived, using anything from the movie, prove it.

For those who believe he died, using anything from the movie, prove it.

    I think I just pwned both camps[face_mischief]

You can't prove either with hints from the movie. We don't know that he died FOR SURE. No one is ever dead until you see a body. You can't prove he's alive either. The Sarlacc's reputation is very dangerous, but there are other factors. Fett's armor is pretty damn strong. People who say he's alive say so because of the EU. You're not going to persuade people with that.

I'd say without better information, further investigation is needed. With evidence being G level canon.

Or maybe he decided not to add anything to the scene on DVD because arguments like this amuse him. ;)

Oh, Lucas. Deriving amusement from his fans petty arguments. For shame![face_shame_on_you];)

I can see how a scene like that wouldn't fit in the film, though. A shot of Fett surviving in RotJ would feel rather random, especially since he's actually a rather minor character in the film.o_O Still, the thought of Lucas just sitting back and watching fans argue about this...[face_laugh]

Fett lived beyond ROTJ no matter what you think about the EU, because all Sarlacc victims are supposed to live in a world of pain and suffering while being digested over a thousand years.

No I am a newbie and sorry to but in but it's an establsihed EU Fact that he escaped the Sarlacc by using a wrist launcher to escape. Besides he is around in LoTF.

Yes, but not everyone's an EU fan, and LotF is EU as well. In G-cannon, whether or not he escapes (good point about "living,", Admiral) the Sarlaac is unclear, though C-cannon is pretty clear about it.
