Did I miss the memo about winter

Apparently I didn't get the memo about winter being only a few short days. It has been nearly forty five during the day. Snow, well we had an inch or two. last week with some cold and thats about it. It should be around 5 and at least a foot of snow on the ground by now.

So I guess its spring now.

 

Don't you know, the memos are now distributed via facebook.

 

The memos are written on restraining orders.

What, we had over 5 days with rain over the last 3 months here in California.
What more do you want? Actual winter?
You think there's something wrong with the fact that on Jan 3rd or 4th it was 75 degrees?

Next you'll be telling us that there should be inclement skies, or even snow, sleet, hail, mist, fog, or even the dreaded "Rain".

 

Thank god I don't ski anymore. Or else I would be screwed.

 

He's complaining about the fact that he doesn't get them.


And from what I'd heard from a couple of people, there has been some good falls for skiing and boarding. Funnily enough, weather patterns are not consistent or predicatable so just because you have a different year won't mean everyone else has.

 

I had to put on the air conditioning in my townhome for a bit over the weekend.

It's been 65 and sunny almost every day here. We only had a couple days of rain during the winter.

Central California.

 

It's been flipflip/shorts weather, in the 70s all week.


Yeeaaah SoCal.

 

It's been a really mild winter here in Salt Lake. It's snowed once. Heck I wore shorts last week, it was in the 50's.

 

It's been really hot here. Could barely think today without breaking a sweat.

Although, that might be because it's actually summer here.

So far this winter the Northern Hemisphere has been in an exceptionally zonal state, with increased westerlies through the mid latitudes (US, Europe, much of Asia) and the cold air has been kept bottled up over the Pole.

Things are on the change, though and theres good signs of the cold starting to move into the mid latitudes as blocking sets up over the Pole. The US and Europe should prepare for a much colder second half to winter.

 

It doesn't feel like winter here either. Anytime I think there is going to be snow, the weather warms to make it rain instead. I never thought I would say this, but I miss snow!

Yup! The weather guys in DC said it was supposed to rain this evening and instead it started snowing around 1-1:30 at school today. Actually got some to stick on the ground!!

 

I hate winter and everything about it. Luckily this winter has been relatively mild...so far. I'm sure that within a month there'll be eleven feet of snow and sub-zero temperatures. You can be sure that I'll be bitching like crazy when it happens.
