Did Lucas really direct the prequels?

Shame on you for forgetting all the casualties from the "Palpatine IS NOT Sidious" War.

Nothing will ever top the furor of THAT conspiracy debate.
More Bans were handed out over THAT argument, than ALL other Bans combined.

No, because that debate was just completely stupid and could be proven wrong just by reading the ROTJ novel.

They hide facts like that in books.

I never bought into the clone thing, but I can see why people debated it. It was ambiguous.

 

It was ambiguous if half your brain wasn't working, maybe.

I mean...seriously. It's not even an exciting plot twist, like Vader being Anakin.

I can just see the big reveal now:

Sidious: "And by the way, Palpatine is my clone. I killed him and took his place."

Anakin: "Okay...so basically the story is exactly the same as it was beforehand, besides that you killed a copy of yourself?"

Yeah I never thought about it like that but I guess it would have gone nowhere even if it was true. On topic--maybe Lucas is one with the clone? So the real Lucas didn't direct the prequels, his clone killed him and took his place....so it's exactly the same as if he did direct them.

 

I know, right?

Maybe if the boards were full of people with good intentions. That isn't why "PALPIDIOUS" was debated in the 1,2 and 3SA Forums. The trolls on these boards kept pushing the argument... when every noob and their brother already knew that OT-Emperor Palpatine and PT-Darth Sidious were one and the same. One of these days when I have some down-time, I'll go search the retired threads and see if I can find the big thread. Its one BIG laugh-factory.

IIRC, the argument had an alternate forms:
PT-Palpatine and PT-Sidious were clones, PT-Palpatine wasn't PT-Sidious, etc. et all.

 

You forgot the biggie: Sidious is a force ghost.

But yeah, the clone theory is just so..meh. I can see TESB if any of it's advancers had been in charge:

Vader: "Obi-Wan never told you what happened to your father, did he?"

Luke: "He told me enough. He told me you killed him!"

Vader: "No. I killed your father."
