[IMG] Luke seems to believe that in the absence of the Jedi Order the Light will find others.

Presumably because he may think that other Light users without being tought Jedi philosophy might not make the same mistakes he criticizes the Jedi for during lesson 2.

We don’t know when Luke decided to disconnect from the Force but what if he was somehow right in his theory? What if his disconnection to the Force, and the Light side having such a powerful and important chess piece removed from the game, alongside the rise of Snoke and Anakin’s grandson, Ben, are all part of why the Force awakened in Rey?

In new cannon comic referred to above its clear that each side of the Force seeks out new vessels it believes are best suited to its ends. In the absence of Luke it finds Rey.

When we think about it. This seems to be what they’re going for with this story above all else. Right down to the Force artifacts like the saber and books calling out to her. Without Luke she is the Light’s best hope at stopping Anakin’s grandson, Ben, and with that Snoke. And it’s possible none of that happens without Skywalker going into exile. So, in a way Luke’s plan did work. It brings forth someone better suited to stopping (or turning Ben Solo) than Luke himself can as his former master who angered him can. It’s the same thing in a way that convinced Obi-Wan he’d never be able to stop Vader or turn him following ROTS and why he felt Luke was their only hope. Ben Solo’s only weakness is Rey herself and Luke had faith that the galaxy would find a way if he stayed away and it did.

I don’t think this warrants a separate thread.
