    Luke has not yet died. In the Expanded Universe, he is still very much alive. This is partly due to the fact that he is the main character of most of the stories (not to mention the whole Classic Trilogy) but because George Lucas has a rule that Luke, Han, and Leia can not (as of yet) die in the Expanded Universe.

    I've heard just the opposite.

    Oh, and as to why he hasn't died yet in the EU based on in-universe stuff: He's only 50 something in The Unifying Force (the furthest into the future the EU has gone thus far), and a great Jedi Master. He's reckless at times, but he is skillful enough to survive. ;)

    Luke has technically died twice in the EU. Once in Splinter of the Mind's Eye and once in Courtship of Princess Leia.

    However he did turn to the "dark side", and to Obi-Wan, that would mean that Skywalker was killed. So that would be 3 deaths, and he came back all three times. ;)

    I was thinking the same thing...but I was trusting Bib. :p I don't remember anything about him dying in there. I haven't read it, but I have read the plot summaries.

    Some major blood vessels in his brain burst from a nightsister attack on Dathomir. The hero Luke Skywalker lays fallen and lost on the darkened world as the sisters press their attack. He survived only because the Force healed his broken vessels and they acted on their own accord.

    He was just mostly dead, but he got better...

    Well if the Courtship of Princess Leia death counts, then the Jedi Academy death should probably count too... ;)

    Lets see, that's 3 deaths for Luke. Splinter of the Minds Eye, The Courtship of Princess Leia and The Jedi Acadamy Trilogy. Bib only said two! Holy Cow Bib made a mistake about Star Wars!

    Wait a minute, would the death of the Luuke clone in the Thrawn trilogy count? Mara Jade killed him and this did enable her to rid herself of the compulsion to kill Skywalker.

    Well, since Luuke was a clone, I don't think he counts. But anyway... 8-}

    Luuke doesn't count, he's a clone. And I don't think the one in Courtship should count either, seeing as he didn't really die.

    Luke's body never died though in JAT. The doctors could not explain his comatose state, but they knew that his body was alive.

    Also, one should note that Luuke's mind was broken and taken over by C'baoth, so he doesn't count as much of anything anyway.

    If he didn't really die in JAT, then that doesn't count.

    Why doesn't a clone count? As we have seen in the GFFA clones are normal humanoids. Why doesn't the clone death of Luuke count?

    I forgot about the coma thing in the JAT, I guess that doesn't count.
