Did Luke ever hear about Watto?

In the book "Tatooine Ghost", when Cliegg Lars and Shmi get married, Watto gives a discount to Cliegg to help him out at the moisture farm.

When Luke came around, and Owen and Beru got older, did they still barter with Watto, or was Watoo even alive at that point? I'm sure Luke's been to Mos Espa? There could be an interesting story told where Luke goes to Mos Espa and stumbles into Watto's shop.
