Did Luke Skywalker ever get his own personal ship? or just use a damn x-wing all the time?

I dont have and haven't read the other New Jedi Order books and the other stuff after New jedi Order but doesn't Luke ever get his own personal ship with hyperdrive or does he use a freakin X-wing all the damn time?

 

He occasionally flies the Jedi Academy's shuttles, and of course he flies the Jade Shadow, but that's about it.

 

Well, since he seems to crash just about everthing he flies...

 

He doesn't need one. He's the only Jedi left, so he can pretty much take any ship he wants, whenever he wants.

 

I wondered about this too...

Then, I remember reading about how he always prefers flying his X-Wing, cos he's personalized it so much, made so many modifications to it, and R2 is so integrated into its systems that he isn't comfortable with anything else. It's kind of like "his baby."

Similar to the idea of Han never wanting to fly anything other than the Millenium Falcon.

I read about this in the Thrawn Trilogy.

 

Luke left his first X-Wing on Cloud City. He never did go back and get it. Just left it there. I'm pretty sure the Rebel Alliance was ticked off for that.

 

Luke tends to bum rides off other people.

 

Starfighters were good enough for Anakin and Obi-Wan.

 

The Jade Shadow, but that was Mara's ship

 

Yeah but Luke continued to use it after Mara was killed.

 

Actually, he had the Jade Sabre (The model before the Shadow) built for his wife, Mara Jade Skywalker, and he'll sometimes be caught flying the ship with her in a few of the books... Co-pilot, of course, though I think he did actually fly it himself once or twice...
