I saw that on Metafilter a couple of days ago - tried taking it before looking at a guide, and scored somewhere in the region of 10/20. A font person I am not.

Does anyone know what font is used for the yellow opening scroll in the Star Wars movies? If it's unknown, what does resemble it the most?

I am making something that needs to look just like it. :D

StarJedi is the closest I've found to it.

Yeah, that's the Star Wars title font.

I mean the font of the opening scroll itself. :)

Thanks! I'm not very familiar with this part of the boards. I hang around in LACWAC mostly. ;)

You should check out the FanFilms section. Lot of cool and talented people over there.

Standard and easy to read fonts like Helvetica, Futura and Arial abstaining, I usually try to stay far away from over used fonts like Comic Sans and Papyrus. Papyrus is so over used that you can find it in nearly every other logo that has to do with something tribal. Sometimes, companies use it just because they think it "looks good". It's used in towing company logos, restaurants, and movies like Serenity and, most recently, Avatar.

Sometimes when I walk down the street I let out a loud shriek (something like a wounded dog being kicked in the kidney) when I see a business logo done in Comic Sans or Papyrus. Shockingly enough, this happens too often.
