JCC Discussion Time: Let's Talk About Drafts - next draft?

Randomly hectic ... like when I went MIA for like 6 weeks during the last draft because my job went crazy on me?

Your call. If you want to help run the tournament of Champions and then run the next one yourself, these folks are pretty forgiving on delays. If not, I understand

 

It took 3+ weeks of heavy guilt-tripping to convince me to re-up on Fantasy Football this year, so I gotta pass on the co-commish offer. But thanks!

How about this. RX_Sith and JediMaster1511 - you both settle in to assist with the Tournament of Champions, and then you two can Commish/Co-Commish the next full Basketball Draft? (Because, trust me, there will be times you'd wish you had someone helping you run the thing)

Alright, looks like strongest support for Comic Books and Movie/TV a close second. Some pretty good space before a third place finish for Video Games, and a distant fourth for Animated.

How's about I post a MINI Draft thread for Four GMs, Two Judges, and myself (acting as Commish/Judge) for Comics? Then, hopefully it runs as quickly as imagined and we can do M/TV with the same number of people?

Per above, but to modify for the changing size, to create the list, I say every GM, Judge, and the Commish suggest 20 draftable characters. That gives us 140 characters on the list. No natural trumps, no "group" picks. Draft 12 characters per side. 48 total drafted (34% of the list). Everyone gets two preps. Ten battles per round. Round Robin, then a championship between the top two, unless one GM goes undefeated.

If we go for this, heels1785 and Mikaboshi - you good to judge? And then first-come, first-serve on the GM spots?

 

... except watching great movies from the 1980s...

Um, can we maybe veto people suggestions before we finalize the list? Like if someone puts beyonfer on there...

 

I'm down with Commish/Judges having final veto power to remove an outlier (or several) from the list.

I'm also willing to go as far as six GMs. I think that'll still allow for a very speedy draft.
