Lit Disney uncannoning the entire EU?

So i know that Disney made his first strike at the EU by launching ''Rebels'' and now with The Force Awakens. But why are people ranting about that they just uncannoned the whole EU? Everything they do is still years away from ''The Old Republic for that matter. They cant just uncannon Revan, Malgus, Naga Sadow and such.. Right?

They decanonized the entire EU in 2014. Only new stuff since 2015 counts. All else is "Legends" until it's mentioned in the new EU or movies/shows.

 

They can and they did.

Albeit, Legends exists as an alternate continuity.

Also, the old EU was never canon but an alternate universe to the SW universe.

 

Yes they can and I'm glad they did.

The old EU was really messy. There were some good stories but it felt too cluttered.

Going forward all stories will tie into the main saga films in some way or another.

Don't let Disney tell you what's canon or not. If you want the 70s and 80s Marvel comic series to be canon or Han Solo at Star's End to be "real" then they are. As far as I'm concerned, if something doesn't contradict anything in Eps 1-7, then it's potentially as canon as the films despite what the mouse house says.

 

I'm not sure whether I'm more surprised that there are still people who haven't heard about this, or that there are still people who think 'canon' is spelled with three Ns.

 

I want to agree with this, but having to accept TFA doesn't work for me.
