    It is not the beard that is evil, only the man with the beard. The Beard of Tyranus, for instance, was used for both good and evil. They have no set morality.

    Mustaches, on the other hand, are always evil.

    I've said before, Kyle Katarn is likely the reason Master Skywalker is too afraid to grow a beard, because he knows Kyle will mock him for his inability to pull it off.

    because bearded Hamill looks like the lovechild of Kyle Katarn/Chuck Norris had with Ewan McGregor Kenobi.. that's why. if it would look original or unique I'd be all for it but it looks so ripped of and unlike him that one would not even notice which actor is behind that beard. as said, when I first saw said image of bearded Skywalker I thought it is a fan posing as Luke, not Hamill himself, really!

    but lets meet in the middleground, my friend... here is my offer: Luke gets no beard but a mustache.. that needs to suffice when it comes to facial hair! and I say that out of good will, personally I prefer beards over mustaches which I do not like myself. so consider this offer as something that breaks my heart but I would give you at least that much, yub?

    I disagree with all of you! If they want to have Kyle Katarn in the film, they'll just film the scenes without anyone acting as him. Then, if he so chooses, he will show up in the movie on those scenes.
