Now that Disney owns both Marvel and Lucasfilm, are we going to now have a dual crossover / retcon of The Stark Hyperspace War? ;)

Is 35mm film considered old school now?

Mostly because I like what the EU did with it. After a few years the "ghosts" couldn't come back again.

I feel bad for laughing at that.

and you know that would make some sense, considering that Qui gon taught Obi-Wan how to be eternally individualistic in the force.

so really it has already been retconned. and the movie is higher canon then the eu. so there you go

I don't care how many millimeters it is as long as they're only measuring in two dimensions.

I actually don't mind 3D, when shot natively, and thought out correctly (ie: Avatar, Hugo Cabret).

I thought the TPM post-conversion was a complete waste of time and money. It seems like 2.05D to me.

3D can be awesome when it's ****ing appropriate. Which it frequently is not.

I'm hoping that 3D now has it's own subject in modern-day film school, just to teach this correctly.

So what about new Star Wars movies revolutionizing the way movies are made as I have seen articles guessing? I was expecting real virtual effects.

Like, they are computer-generated but they are there on the set. Duude.

I'm more encouraged by the devolutionized approach, ie: 35mm film, practical model-making.

I don't expect anything groundbreaking from the new Star Wars films. I do expect that they will look polished, shiny and expensive. That Disney money...

If Obi Wan Force Ghost looks like Ewan..... I mean I like him a lot but eeeww I want Sir Alec Guinness... even if he is a computer model then!

So Yoda will look like a teenager with hair when his forceghost comes up?

And if they have to do a Vader Ghost... use Jake Lloyd.. not Hayden please. honestly...

I do, TRON LEGACY was the best sequel ever. great tribute to the original, great continuation, story, characters etc. it was modern and yet still nostalgic. I am all for TRONizing Star Wars.

    NO!

I am actually referring to the aesthetic look, not the qualities of a sequel.

I want the sequel trilogy to return to the 'used universe' feel. That is the analogy I was referencing to.

I think TRONizing it can still have the used universe feel. that is no contradiction. I want the used look and nostalgic feel above all too as you know.

    o_O... YMMV

Any 5 seconds of Uprising put Legacy to shame. I donĀ“t like 2 hour long videoclips, Daft Punk or not.

Obi-Wan said in Heir to the Empire that it would be a long before he could return. Edge of Victory 2 Rebirth and then in The Unifying Force according to Wookiepedia.
