What I never liked about the character's creation is that he's a blatant cash-in by trying to tie a lot of separate ideas into one: Sith, Jedi, Bounty Hunter, Mandalorian, it's just too much. I still want to see him in the new canon, but let's not glorify the character as something unique.

 

One good thing about Revan being the character described as the Sith founder in the TPM novization is that if Revan founded the Sith, Vitiate can't exist.

 

You never know...

BioWare could end up having Vitiate win, and achieving his goal of remaking the galaxy, making Vitiate the reboot McGuffin.

 

It must have been longer than I thought since I played that game.

 

Maybe he's a mandalorian because he has the T visor? Even though it isn't a T visor and was definitely not a mandalorian helmet.

Until it was retconned into being one, anyway.

KOTOR #42 gives the backstory for Revan's mask, making it a Mandalorian faceplate with the Mandos not having one distinct design of armour at that time. Which is so much of an under-the-radar retcon that it probably doesn't inform the reception of Revan's character for those who didn't follow the comic book (or get all their SW knowledge from Wookiepedia).

 

Well, yeah. I was agreeing with Catherine's point that Revan wasn't remotely Mandalorian, but pre-empting the "but he had a mandalorian helmet!" response.

Though, granted, he did always look a bit like a red and back Boba Fett in a cape.

 

The lack of a standard Mandalorian appearance at that point in time made it possible for the origin of the mask to remain ambiguous enough for me.

It's not a t-visor after all, so... who's to say where that Mando got it from. Maybe it was just a trophy, that she (I think it was a she?) decided to wear after she looted it out of a tomb somewhere.

 

I think him and Nick Frost as droids would definitely improve the overall narrative of the PT.

I liked the whole bit about Han not having seen Luke since ROTJ. That was a nice touch.

I'm mostly bothered by the idea of a hand surviving a plunge into an atmosphere.
