He well could be. There's 4000 years between Zayne and Anakin. That's 160 generations. There could be entire planets of people who could trace their family trees back to him if there were records.

And that would give Anakin how many possible ancestors?
    2^160=1.46150164 x 10^48 or so roughly?

At some point the whole "They are related!" thing stops being meaningful. What if Zayne is the ancestor of all the humans in the movies?

Yeah, I'm sure if I traced my lineage back far enough, I'd be related to at least some of you. :p

Obviously all humans in the galaxy are descended from Cosmo Hender.

Are you taking into account that Anakin has only one parent?

Wouldn't matter much - it only means Anakin needs 161 generations rather than 160 to have the same theoretical number of ancestors.

In practice, with a galactic population of only 100 quadrillion or so, there will be some degree of inbreeding over those 160-odd generations.

Well, given his father is the Force, that means he's technically the half-brother to all life in the universe.

If you go back 40 generations, you'd have over two trillion ancestors, which of course isn't possible. In fact, some people back then are your ancestors multiple times over. When it occurs in the first generations, this is indeed inbreeding. Over time, it get diluted.

"Diluted inbreeding" is what I'm thinking of - not "first cousin marries first cousin" but "30th cousin marries 30th cousin" or something along those lines.

Indeed. In the end, we're all Nth cousins. Research suggests that all people who live today have a most recent common ancestor who lived 2,000 to 4,000 years ago.

It would explain all the bad luck in the galaxy and why things keep going wrong for the Republic and Jedi.

Stormtroopers not being able to shoot straight? It's the Zayne Gene. The Jedi Council repeatedly making the same mistakes again and again throughout history? It's the Zayne Gene.

People thinking it a smart idea to make Daala Chief of State? It's the Zayn... okay, scratch that, this doesn't work, not even the Zayne Gene explains that one.

That would have been incredible. And Alien3 is criminally underrated.

Looks like EP7 is only a few more weeks from being complete. Filming that is. This news according to an article with an interview with Oscar Isaac is who already finished filming.

A Star Wars film is on its way to being complete. :)

    The was fast.

Or this year has gone fast and I didn't realise. Or my concept of the passage of time is warped.

Or all three. Probably all three.

Still tons of CGI work to do, like Han's peg leg and stuff.

Also with Jar Jar being prominent once again I can see that taking a fair amount of time to pull off.
