So I was reading this article about the twist in one of the rebels episodes and came across this

"Filoni: I was going to say, some people were like, “Why is Luminara alive!?” They were very upset about it. I was thinking like, man, people just don’t think we pay attention to any continuity. They just want to jump down your throat."

I just laughed at that comment. Of course people don't think you care about continuity after what you did with the EU. Filoni should be expecting this more often, but instead he gives this BS.

 

Well, some people are just sick and tired of arbitrarily boneheaded decisions by LFL, especially when virtually all of TCW's issues were caused by Lucas being surrounded by yes men and its not really getting any better so far.

 

I'm not one of the people who throws fits about continuity, and this still got a laugh. Yeah, why would they not think you don't care about it, Filoni?

 

And how do you define "better?"

So I have to say, the more I watch Rebels, the more pessimistic I find myself feeling about EVII. Not because I don't like Rebels - I do - but because its dedication to "recapturing the 'spirit' of the OT" is making me more and more certain that they're going to try to do the same thing with the ST, even though it won't necessarily make nearly as much sense in- or out-of-universe. Am I just worrying irrationally here, or is anyone else (besides the people in the Luke thread who have a nervous breakdown at every new rumor, anyway) feeling this way?

 

At this point, with the disavowal of the EU, Star Wars is most likely never going to move out of the shadow of Lucas. LFL still completely revolves around Lucas, when I see so much more potential and is how I define "better."

 

The "Kira" name rumour seems to be gaining traction. Which I am a fan of, due to being used DS9 and Continuum (and also apparently Chronicles of Riddick for the always welcome Alexia Davalos). Sounds a bit like a normal name like "Karen" done Star Wars-y.

 

Maybe that could be her full name: Kira Jaina Solo?

 

And here I thought the full name was Kira Jesus Yamato.
