Troy Denning and the word "solve" in the same sentence... this just proves Disney can indeed work miracles. :p

Who needs logic? It just makes writing hard. In this day and age we don't like things that are hard, which is why logic has to go. It might be already dead. I'm not sure because I never use it:p

    HAHAHAHA.

Come on, guys... If you're gonna make something up, at least pick something remotely plausible.

Obviously they're suggesting Ahsoka, which I think is insane... but speaking purely theoretically, I will say her voice quality matches pretty well.

    Denning's job interview.

Denning: In my business, you prepare for the unexpected.
Shapiro: And what business is that?
Denning: I help fans with problems.
    Shapiro: Problem solver.
Denning: More of a problem eliminator.

Do not denigrate Badger-class Dalton by comparing him to Denning.

If you have to pick an LTK character that is close to Denning, go with Joe Butcher.

Yeah, pretty much my thoughts. When I first saw the trailer I was horrified and thought I had mistakenly clicked on some joke video attempting to parody the official trailer...but no it was the official trailer >_>

Now, I'm a OT and EU fan...I was unenthusiastic about the idea of a sequel trilogy, and was rather nonplussed about the reboot...but at the least I was hoping we'd get a good Star Wars movie out of it. This trailer has not helped my expectations...

So due to the destruction of the Sith and all, and taking the trailer dialogue and title very literally, anyone wanna put odds that the Force is "awakening" across the board for lots of individuals? the PT (and by extent possibly the OT) ability to use the Force was diminished (Mace Windu's words) so now it's awakening in, like a random Imp grunt ala Finn, etc. Unlimited force powah! Of the Dark side and the light. Oh my! So much for the whole PT Jedi order structure, everybody's getting Force powered. Han Solo Jedi Knight! Well, maybe not that much but it'd be just a hellova lot more Force users. With no training, it just kinda clicks. Picture Marvel's merry mutants, with lightsabers.

Haven't said much on the trailer myself, but I thought I'd sum it up in a few words. As you can expect, being the vocal EU fanboy that I am, I didn't really like it. It seemed as if though it was a fan trailer. Havac summed it up really well. The production quality has been really, really low and I hope this is fixed in post-production to prevent the obvious issue of this looking like a fan film. Huckleberry Finn popping up out of nowhere, some OT-looking ships to bring up nostalgia.. and a generic Sith at the end with a cross-guard Lightsaber which wouldn't make much use from a tactical viewpoint. Probably the worst point is that we're having a generic Sith/Dark Jedi as the villain again. Say what you want about the Imperial Warlords we had all the time in early EU but some of them at least had a more interesting gimmick than just Sith all over again.

Dear God if I'm right and they bring Mortis into this...

What I'm picturing is Star Wars: Trilogy Three - Change:

But I think that would potentially be a really interesting direction to go in.

I remember suggesting something like that back about a year ago. Of course, back then we hadn't had the title yet, so I was just wildly speculating. I do still like the basic idea, though, of the Force "awakening" in people a la Luke in ANH, but on a wider scale, in the core characters of the ST, now that the imbalance in the Force (read: Palpatine), has been vanquished, and the Force able to return to Balance everything go back to normal </non-PT-mumbo-jumbo-phrasing>.

Denning novelization confirmed! The deal included making everyone a Jedi or Sith so that he'd include them in the book.

So everyone set to fall to the dark side in future spin-offs and novels. Sounds legit.

I see I'm not the only one who is concerned that the Really Spooky Voice in the woods is a callback to Craptis.
