If Lucas was writing the script for Episode VII, it wouldn't be done until a like a week after they finished shooting.

And sometimes he still goes back to make revisions. Again. And again. And again.

You so know there's a line in his will that instructs his executors to finally release the definitive story of the Tragedy of Darth Vader after his death.

There's also a star beside that line and a footnote that dictates that it must go through about a hundred alterations until the money to alter it just isn't there anymore.

The agreement seems to be a retcon book that follows his adventure. Some theories are he survives the moon strike, or the moon strike was a clone of him that didn't know it was a clone... With Peter Mayhew signed for 789, it is a good bet Chewie will survive. It isn't like he got a lightsaber through the chest. Something Darth Maul managed to survive...

Peter Mayhew wrote the foreword to the Chewbacca comic, in which after his death, various people (Wedge, Leia, Han, Luke, Attichitcuk) tell stories about Chewie's adventures.

And he will probably write the forward for second volume, where we explore his supposed death, but in all reality it is an adventure of his return to his friends, that takes 20 years...

Mayhew could always be playing Lowbacca, the famous Wookiee Jedi.

    Because they're a thing again.

I must say, as much as I'd prefer not to have a Jedi double act again since I preferred the Luke-Han dynamic to Obi-Anakin, I'd more than happily make an exception if it was Lowbacca.

What about a Jaina Jag Ashik Waroo (or Lowie) main cast. Ben has his own adventure with new cast on the side

I think that statement was based on this article from 2003.

It says that a British magazine called Hotdog quoted Mayhew as saying that when he signed his contract for III, it had a clause requiring him to work in VII, VIII, and IX.

    FWIW

Alternatively, he could be playing Chewbacca in Life Day flashback sequences (it's Disney, so I imagine these will be the de rigeur musical numbers)

the wookiee porn machine turns out to be an ancient Rakatan mindtrap... and Chewie is caught in there waiting for a new body, cause his old soulless one died only? :p

I was thinking caught by slavers and drugged... possibly cloned... Escapes can't remember who he is, runs into person X who recognizes him and is like no you are dead. Would be really hard to write dialogue though

Yeah, uh, for once he's being accurate. Don't watch the Holiday Special.

    (Obviously now you're going to, but don't say I didn't warn you :p )

Here's to Waroo appearing in EP 7, remind us one of the three good things that came from the holiday special, the other two being Boba Fett and Jon Bon Jovi

Thank you Disney. That's another fine thing your thread has managed to bring to my unwanted attention.

I call it now: Star Wars Sequels Holliday Special 2015: Directed by Joss Whedon featuring Bollywood group dance musical scenes, only better like in the awesome Buffy musical episode [face_batting]
