I usually don't put anything in these rumours, but seriously JJ, could you have made it anymore obvious what the surprise twist is now going to be?

 

This almost sounds like Michael Arndt's frustrated exclamations in that video he made. Luke, I am your... child. "AHA! You flip it! You flip it and then it's...terrible."

 

Knowing that the next film in my favorite franchise will be one written by JJ Abrams is like knowing my dog has cancer - I'm trying to be cool and optimistic about it, but I'm pretty sure heartbreak is on the horizon.
An "I am your father" switch-around? A plot so forced and predictable that people will have been making fun of it since well before they even actually found out about it. I wouldn't be surprised.
When was the last time we heard a rumor that made the film sound less like a flashy remix of half-remembered pop iconography, a la STID?

 

I actually have no problem with that and actially kind of like it, it's just the absurdity of it not burning up in the atmosphere of Tatooine on entry that is SO DUMB to me.

Well, given "rumours" include particular actors being rumoured to appear, who have yet to be officially confirmed as having been cast, it still confirms practically zilch.

So... yeah... still taking everything with a pinch of salt.

Are they trying to ruin the SW universe? Not only, if true, will they piss all over what little sense they had in EU, but they will actually make him look like a loser.

 

If Luke starts the movie in a bad place, it's not as if he end the movie there too. It'd give Hamill a juicy character arc to play on screen.

 

I don't even know what the rumors are, but I think these two opinions cancel each other out...

Satisfying character cults =/= good storytelling.
