ST Disney's Fiscal Full Year and Q4 2013 Earnings Results Webcast

Disney is having their earning's call today, and it's very possible they'll discuss Star Wars.

Don't they know I'll be stuck in rush hour traffic going home then? So inconsiderate. But yeah, I expect at least some mention of SW.

 

Just to let you folks know, I appreciate the efforts of any of you folks who are able to listen in and relay any info if there is some.

 

If there is Star Wars news I promise you the web will have posted tons of copies of the investors call by the time you're out of rush hour traffic or failing that a full transcript.

No doubt, I am just expressing my appreciation for those who listen in and relay info. Even if I had the time to do it, I don't have the patience to.

 

I personally plan to listen in... I have enough desperation for news to out weigh my lack of patience.

 

Obviously there will be a mention. But how big of a mention?

 

They will only make slight mentions in their forecast. They might mention marketing, toys, shows and maybe some potential tie-ins. They might even give a glimpse of how pre-production is going though unlikely. They will also not likely talk a release date other than the generic 2015 window since that does not fall in the next fiscal year.

 

Could be. But remember in February, in a call to investors, he officially announced the spinoffs with a LFL press release on StarWars.com to coincide with the announcement. Now I'm not saying we're going to get something as big as that, but I do think it will be more than a mention because of what has surfaced these past two weeks, and investors will probably have questions/concerns about these things.

 

There is always hope for better. That would be awesome!

 

I'm telling you all, as Iger is talking, the OT3 will stroll into the board room and the announcment will be made.

Inside sources confirmed that you should take this with a grain of salt and that if it doesn't happen by the end of the call it won't happen.

 

So Disney's investors call was "the big Whoop-De-Doo" George Lucas was talking about 6 months ago? And whatever happened to Iger saying he'd let KK handle that bit of news at the end of the Feb investors call?

I totally believe we'll get something... after all he needs to counte bad press atm. That said I was thinking something on a different tangent that doesn't actually say much about VII, beyond crew related news and Arndt, maybe something hinting at these Darth Vader TV specials, spinoffs, or theme park news

He will say Imperial forces have hijacked the conference call and he can't talk about VII.

Your logic is sound, you expected nothing and we did infact get something, the release date.

 

If there was a Disney meeting this major with no discussion of Star Wars, I would be shocked.
