Holy macaroni, that was a good sci-fi flick. I really liked it because it pulled ideas from all of my favorite sci-fi franchises.

    1) the alien technology was obviously insprired by Half-Life
2)The MECH WARRIOR thing- need I say more?
    3) The aliens spoke EXACTLY like Geonosians from Star Wars

    4) I dont wanna spoil the story for you, go see it, it was great

Been awaiting this flick for a while.

Imagine a science fiction film that's actually science fiction.

this was a really good movie, it wasn't perfect, but it beats everything else out in the theaters right now.

Very well done film. It just works on many levels and definitely rises above the stuff that has been coming out all Summer. It definite earned its R rating.

it was a great movie! a lot more gory than i expected though, just a heads-up. a science fiction film that actually marries the usual sci-fi elements with the very real human condition.

at times, the alien father and son were more human than the humans in the film.

    Alien/Human bromance.

It does seem that there is an opening for a sequel. I thought the other creative elements was how it took conventional genre cliches and turned them around. These aliens are not fuzzy cute aliens, they look like stereotypical "bad guuy" aliens, but it's the humans that are bad. And I though the reverse reverse First Person Shooter camera work on that one merc was interesting. Like a reverse of the idea from the Doom movie. That mech at the end totally reminded me of Mechwarrior too (maybe we will have a Mechwarrior movie in the future). Now I'd pay to see that kind of stuff in a Transformers movie.

Peter Jackson produced a relatively low budget film, but with the director put quite a lot into it. Would have been interesting to see what they would have done with Halo as was originally pllanned.
