Hello everyone. After scanning a few posts it seems that the arrival of the states' only DLP cinema screen may have gone unnoticed. The Denver Pavillians big screen now proudly posseses the new technology. I saw the Clone War trailer there when it hit on Friday (with Ice Age), and let me just say: I WAS FLOORED!! Completely BLOWN AWAY! (Well, not completely; I am still here). Go down and see the trailer there if you haven't; it's an amazing experiance. Of course, the whole theater erupted in cheers and clapping after seeing it. How could they not?

Are you sure? Because it's not listed on the DLP site:

    http://www.dlp.com/dlp/cinema/where.asp

Plus I go to that theater all the time and have seen nothing about it.

Don't get me wrong. I WANT YOU TO BE RIGHT. I was planning on having to go LA to eventually see AOTC in digital.

WANNABE....are you close enough to do a recon before the meeting? If he's right, we should confirm and pass the word.

Hopefully they can get this hammered out in time to get more theaters going digital by EP III.

    From IMDB:

Studios To Develop Digital Projection Standard Together

Hollywood's seven major film studios, who have been accused of dragging their feet in converting to digital exhibition, announced Tuesday that they plan to work together to develop a standard technical format. In a statement, the studios said that such an industry-wide format was necessary "so that movie producers, exhibitors, and equipment manufacturers can be confident that their products and services are interoperable and compatible with the products and services of all industry participants." Left unaddressed in the statement was the question of who will pay for the conversion to the new technology once the standards are agreed upon.

And yes, I still need to contact the Pavillions, i've been waiting until the next time I go there, but I may just call them.

    Cool, thanks for the help.

Just make sure to ask a manager type who seems like they understand what you're asking, i'd hate for us to either think they do or don't have a DLP because some guy gave you a quick answer.

    Hi guys.
We're planning to attend the charity premiere, could you gives us some info on where to stay? How long does it take from the airport to downtown Denver?

    Well, thanks in advance!

    Lost in El Paso.

Well, that depends on where it's at. They haven't released a theatre name yet, but my bets are the Continental @ I-25 & Hampden (the Marriott Southeast across the street & one of those long term motels in the same parking lot) or the Pavillions downtown (anywhere downtown you can catch a shuttle or the light rail to it. Keep checking the Kemp.org website for breaking info.

QGD, at the moment, is grounded so unless he can wiggle himself out of it tomorrow (mind tricks maybe?) then he wont be able to check out the pavillions theater downtown...

    Thanks for the info.
    I got this email today:
"Yes, we got the theater location yesterday afternoon.
    I'll be
sending out formal letters to all ticket purchasers very soon.

It will be held at the Continental Theater at Hampden Ave. and I-25.
    There
is an Embassey Suites and the Denver Mariott SE very close by. We've
    asked
for a 4 p.m. showing and the movie runs til 2 hrs and 15 min. As for
    the
reception, I'd add another hour or so at the end for that - although
    we're
    still finalizing our plans.

    Katharine"

The Embassy Suites is a couple of miles down Hampden, maybe 5 min from the theater, but very nice. The Marriott is literally within walking distance of the theater, but I wouldn't recommend walking since you cross a major thoroughfare, it's very nice as well. Either way, I'd say it's about 45 min from the airport to I-25 and Hampden, it's all highway.

Welcome to Mile High, let us know who you are when you get to the theater!!
