Was it ever said if they knew about her?
Beru and owen lars adopting Luke is a plot hole. He just walked up to them and gave them the baby and walked away, without explaining anything, who the baby is. Even better, did they know that Anakin became Darth vader and a cyborg?
They probably knew about Leia. But it's just speculation.
Why? It's safer for them NOT to know.
Why is it safer for them not to know?
So if they were captured and Luke was found out about, they could say "this is Anakin's only kid" and Leia could still grow up and help the Rebellion.
Also, Beru and Owen don't need to know.
He might have emailed ahead.
There's no email in the gffa
Besides, why would farmers have computers? Especially since Tattoine is based on the Wild West
Maybe. But why would they go looking for Anakin's children? Vader thought that they died with Padme. Besides, why would Vader and the Emperor want to capture Luke and Leia? What did they need to be kept safe from? I had a fan theory that the Emperor wanted to lure the Skywalker twins to the darkside, and that's why Luke and leia were separated. Is is true?
They could lie and just not mention Leia.
The only people who knew about Leia were Kenobi, Yoda, and Organa. That's it. Ogana's wife didn't even know. The droids attending the birth had their memory erased.
Oh, I suppose Artoo knew, as well...but Artoo was very good at keeping secrets. In fact, Artoo knew everything about everything. Probably the most trustworthy and loyal "great glob of grease" in the entire galaxy.
Why wouldn't they? They have floating cars. Even relatively primitive people like moisture farmers are waaaay past email.
Yes, it is true. People didn't want Palpatine to find the twins which is why they took the measures they did. This has been stated.
It's safer to split up. And most powerful Force users, as well and many non-Force users, can tell when you are lying. The Lars tell Palps that this kid isn't Vader's and Palpatine believes them and leaves?! Not a chance.
Princess leia's adopted mother knew she was vader/anakin and padme's daughter. Yes, c3po having his memory erased was awesome because it showed a new birth. He would leave his past behind as anakin's droids, and that mantle was passed onto Luke anakin's son. A fresh start.
R2D2 did not remember luke and leia's mother. That would be awesome, though.
Who cares? He's just a robot? Robots are just machines with no souls.
Actually, in all six movies, in all the books and comics and graphic novels, Artoo never had his memory wiped. Never. Not even once.
So, he knows who Padme was. He knows who Anikin was. He knows who Luke and Leia are.
Artoo is just a machine. He has no consciousness.
It's kind of cool how artoo knew everything that happened in the prequels-luke's and leia's father, padme, the republic, the twin's birth, but he couldn't communicate with them, but he knew it. It's kind of like having an all knowing sage walking around town.
