You also gotta remember Luke's very first use of a Force power in the field is a "Force shoot-the-ranged-weapon-at-the-perfect-time" that the saga never shows again. And when Yoda (apparently? possibly?) pulls Luke's X-wing down to land near his hut on Dagobah, that's also a strange one-off.

If ANH came out right now, we'd all be going, "What the hell? The Force helping you shoot a ranged weapon perfectly? Boy, that's a reach! Five movies of experienced Jedi on foot, with melee weapons, and suddenly the greenest of the green does some kind of 'Force no scope' that we've never seen before — with a missile, of all things?! Lame."

There's a fine tradition of one-off Force things that don't become named, bread-and-butter powers.
