My friend Andy Dufresne wishes he was alone in Shawshank prison. Instead he was put in a cell with a man named Tiny....It was the longest night of his life!
ha, yeah, but Andy got to spend some time in solitary, so it made up for it!
Matt, looks like we like the same books!
It's an awesome book!
I believe in cell mates only when it pertains to me and Ken. I just have a feeling that Ken would share his commissary food with me.
most definately and more so than soul mates...for a con there is always a bubba or bertha to comfort him/her...tis destiny
There's always room for a good cell mate.
once you go bubba you got yourself a lubba
Sure, there is someone for everyone...and an efficient way to save more prison space.
Could really save prison space if we didn't lock so many people up in this country?
keep em alone - not much of a punishment if you give them someone to love their first night in, unless they want it to be... prisoners should have no contact with other prisoners except a few hours a day other then that keep locked in their rooms and make them read bad romance novels
My cell mate thinks I'm sexy.....Have you all heard that song?
hm...if bad people would learn to be good people the amount of people in prison would decrease dramatically...plus execute rapists, murderers and child molesters and it would decrease even more...i think better behind bars than on the streets.
rapist & child molesters should be drawn and quartered in a public forum... and for the really bad pediphiles they should suffer even more, heat some coals underneatth them while its going on...
Agree with you Melkor. Execute more criminals and not let them sit on death row for 20 years. Give them a couple months before you send them to old sparky!
criminals are bad for a reason...i had a guy looking into my 4yr daughters window a few weeks back (my sister heard him about 3am)...lucky it was not me that heard him because he would have been pumped full of lead and i would be a cellmate w/bubba
"Oh Andy...thank you very kindly."
I agree with the above, but I also think good people make bad choices. I took a Sociology class on this subject last semester, and I have a totally different perspective on "deviance" than I used to.
We want "criminals" to be responsible, so we put them in a place where they have no responsibility.
We want them to be non-violent, so we put them in a violent place.
We want them to be kind and loving people, so we subject them to hatred and cruelty.
We want them to take control of their lives, own thier own problems, and quit being a parasite, so we make them totally dependent on the government.
Makes no sense to me!
hello there sonny...this is Morgan Freeman
Memories, da da da da da da da. of the way we were.
On a serious note,
I'm with you carlos, even though new mexico law isn't.
He would probably get a really laid back probation, while you would get 20 to 30 for disposing of the sorry piece of crap.
I'm a sociology class last semester, one of the students went on a ride along with the sex offenders regulation unit. They told her that as off may the law didn't require them to sign up on the sex offenders page and the # officers who would monitor them would be dropped. That is a load of crap. This state is so half ass backward.
I say...bring back the Guillotine and have public executions! If you steal...cut off the hands....if you rape/molest...cut off the...well you know!
amen, Jess! People need to be held accountable!
and I do understand that good people make bad mistakes....I for one am one of them!
I got better!
I've been to prison.................and I have a picture of me and my cell mate that I'll show you sometime.
drawn and quartered, as a woman I think that is the only justice for a piece of crap that rapes and molest - especially children. I know who we can start with too
