Do you donate blood?

It was only a few years ago that I finally got up the nerve, but I've gone semi-regularly since then, partly because I'm afraid that if I let myself put it off too long, I might chicken out entirely. (Not that it's that bad, actually, but the needle tends to loom larger in imagination if I don't confront it regularly.) The Red Cross sent me a little card this summer saying I've given thirteen times, so I guess they know.

 

I just donated on Monday.

 

I can't anymore because of my heart medication.

I can't, because I don't meet the weight requirement and I've traveled to places that prohibit me from taking part for a certain amount of time, but I probably wouldn't anyway because I'm absolutely terrified of needles.

 

Yes, and I should probably try to donate before school starts. I don't always have time at our school blood drives.

Well, I like the on-campus drives because I can grab a spot instead of going home or some such. When I walked past one today, the girl recognized me from Monday.

I would love to. I have blood type O positive and they keep telling me they need my blood.
But I can't. I take heart medication, among other things, so... sadly, I cannot.

My husband goes to donate blood every two to three months. Plus plasma.
He donates enough for the both of us.

I voted 'No, I'm not interested in donating blood' but what that really means is '*****! You're not sticking a ******* needle in me!'

 

I donated once. But they wouldn't want my blood. I'm anemic and have a really low blood sugar and pressure and I've been told that it's a bad idea for me to do it, especially since they'd toss it out anyways. Plus I hate needles. *shudders*

 

I tried to, but got turned away because I don't weigh enough.

I really don't plan on it. I have a hard enough time when they TAKE my blood. If I could just go down and make my nose bleed, it'd be a different story.

I used to more often, and I've pretty much reached a point where I'm annoyed with the Red Cross bugging me, so I'm less likely to donate period. Probably not best of reasons.
