Whether or not a film can be said to "go too far" in any of those areas, I think things have to be looked at in their proper context. For example, if you make a movie about violent criminals and thugs, it simply won't do to have them shouting "Darn!" and "Fiddlesticks!"[face_laugh]

No. I do think that movies should be labeled with what's in them, so those who don't want a part of it can skip the film. But not everyone is squeamish about "adult" topics and language, and sometimes they're necessary to tell a story in a powerful way.

What I do think Hollywood does too much of is silly, overused storylines and unrealistic characters, though, which is why I don't see very many movies.

In my opinion I think Hollywood has pushed the PG and PG-13 movies too far (and a great deal of television too). It's sad that people can't be creative enough to tell a good story without throwing foul language and sexual content into them. That's what R movies are for.

No real opinion on the topic, but I could rant for a while on violence being allowed, but no sex. Like, a movie can get banned for the sex being too explicit, but won't be for explicit violence.
I should probably take this to the Senate. [face_beatup]

I voted none. I think that some films have gone to far on one of the three. But not enough that all films are like that.

    All of the above.

These things, I fear, have become rather purposeless in most of the movies. [face_plain]

I don't think the 'common' movie has gone too far yet.

I'm sorry, but America is the most prudish (sorry about my grammar) country in the world. In France on Primetime TV there are naked women doing soap commericials. This country is tame compared to the rest of the world in terms of Hollywood going too far.

All of the above except maybe Violence...Movies can be VERY good with out the other two...And most of the time..(I've rarely seen a movie where it does.) ..it doesn't help the plot at all.

Not really. Where Hollywood has gone too far with is lack of quality. Too many Hollywood movies nowadays just take the aforementioned things, ties them together with a bad excuse of a plot and puts in couple of good looking movie stars. Violence, sex etc alone don´t make a good or a bad movie. They never have and never will.
