My platonic work life partner has been calling me Kiki for years (full name: Dame Kiki Von Teese). It was only recently, at a work bowling event, when he typed that in on the score keeping thinger, that it caught on with everyone else.

 

Is your name dutch? It reminds me of a name out of a scifi.

I have a friend I dive with named Nick. People call him Nick.

 

OMG how have you never told me that before?! Yes it's great being a guy who goes by a nickname that is usually attached to women or female cartoon characters.

 

This makes me happy because I've never met anyone else besides my sister go by Lissa. People always give me weird looks when I call her that. She had to revert to that in elementary school because there were 4 Melissas in her class and they all had to come up with some way to distinguish between them. Except she still goes by Lissa (or Missa, because our cousins couldn't pronounce the L when they were small).
