I haven't had any major issues with Vista so far.

I have it on my laptop and it's great. I've never had a single problem with it. Far more secure, I've not once had any viruses or spyware problems, whereas this desktop which has XP is constantly getting attacked with various nasties. I'd love to get Vista on this computer but my husband (it really belongs to him, I just use it more) refuses to put it on, though it's not because of any dislike for it, his laptop has Vista, he just doesn't want the hassle of upgrading lol.

 

Unfortunately, yes. It's nearly killed my laptop. I had my brother partition my hard drive, so most of the time I run Linux. I use Windows XP on the family desktop.

 

I've been using it since it came out on my laptop and home machine. Although I had to do a few work arounds to get it's perfermance up to spec (which was fixed with SP1) I've been pretty satisfied with it. Much better compatability with newer technogies that are emerging these days. With all new Windows OS's there are things that annoy me, but all in all, I like it. But, as with any Windows OS, you've gotta wipe the factory installed OS and reinstall clean to get it to run solid. Also, Vista is a memory hog, to be sure... especially the 64 bit version, so load up on it.

nope, not yet. I bought my Dell laptop right before Vista came out, and I don't think I'll be upgrading anytime soon since XP works just fine for me.

Yeah, and it sucks.
I've gotten used to all its colorful quirks but still -- too much new stuff even though the old stuff was perfectly fine.
Who needs all the glitter and color and new sounds?

Technically, I have it. As in, I have the CD for me to use to upgrade whenever I'm confident it won't screw everything up, etc. That said, I still use XP and will for a while yet.

Yes and I like it. I haven't encountered any real problems that I haven't been able to fix. Also, it feels more safe and user friendly.

I don't but my uncle does. He hates it, because for some reason, it won't play certain games that XP will.
