Do you like snakes?

Poll suggestion by Jada.

 

Snakes are awesome. I couldn't stomach feeding them personally, but beyond that I love them. My brother-in-law, on the other hand, would totally faint just reading this poll.

Which is why I bought my niece a five-foot-long plush snake.

 

They're cool-ish, but you wouldn't catch me voluntarily going anywhere near one.

 

I have no real fear, although I wouldn't like to be in a room alone with one (we're not all Steve Irwin types down under, you know)

I love snakes...couldn't have one as a kid though Oh well.

 

I voted for I love snakes of all kinds, but I hate the wrong use of the word "love". I prefer "like".

 

I think snakes are cool but I'm still a bit afraid of them

I used to be terrified of snakes and then I moved to the desert and knew I'd have to be dealing with snakes. So I made myself find out about them and learn about them. I do have Steve Irwin to thank for educating me.

I still have a healthy fear of running into poisonous snakes. We have copperheads around here and I ran into one the other day.

Now that I know more about snakes I know that there are many "good" snakes and whenever I can I make myself go and hold snakes at museums and zoos. I recently touched a python. And no, it wasn't Monty.

 

I love snakes and don't mind holding them (Of course they have to be constrictors though). In fact I would love to own one some day. When I was still in high school, a kid brought in his pet ball python and I was one of 2 people who wanted to hold it.

 

Why did it have to be snakes?

Bah. They don't scare me. However I do not see any appeal to them at all.

I love them. And I think they're beautiful. And very cool. I wouldn't want one as a pet though, because keeping them cooped up in a box is wrong. I like them in the wild, so long as they don't bite me (Not that I'm really at risk over here, there's one type of venomous in the UK, and that's an Adder ). If I were in Ausland, I'd probably feel a bit differently

 

I love snakes. Though, besides garter snakes, I'd never get near one in the wild.

 

I like snakes, but I certainly wouldn't want to be up close to a dangerous one. I caught a few garter snakes in the past, and they weren't aggressive at all.

 

I hate snakes.

I don't mind snakes but I'd rather not see one.

I was rather scared of snakes as a kid, I have overcome that fear by now, but really want to keep my distance to them still.

I am perversely fascinated.

There's something really terrifying about them, but I love the reptile house at the zoo . . . it's like a chance to just face the abyss or something, to face something that, in the cultural sense, stands for everything that's evil and sickening.

Gives me shivers, but I love it.

I'm a sick, sick person.

 

I like them some of the time.

 

They are interesting creatures, but I rather keep my distance from them.

 

Fine. The only time I would actually touch or hold one is if someone who knows how to handel them (and to assure they are not poisonous) is around.
