Do you like snakes?

I don't mind them, but I'd rather not see one.

Of course, if they're dangerous, I prefer to keep my distance simply because it's dumb not to. Living in an area where rattlesnakes are common helps you appreciate a healthy distance.
But safe snakes are fun to hold. Kind of unnerving when a big one wants to wrap around your neck...

I mean, snakes are snakes, and snakes equal slithering coolness. But they're still snakes. Make sense?

 

I like snakes, a lot. I'm not bothered by them at all really, and I've held numerous types of snakes throughout my lifetime and once managed to "capture" hold a wild snake for about ten seconds (I knew it wasn't poisonous of course, or else I wouldn't have gone near it).

But it's not really true. I'm not afraid of snakes. I just have a healthy respect for those particularly venomous ones.

My first college roomate had 2 ball pythons that didn't bother me. The mice that he fed them with on the other hand.....the ones that kept getting loose and running around the room squeeking their heads off at 2 in the morning.....they got on my nerves. As did the girlfriend, dog, and marijuana. None of which were allowed in our college dorms.

 

I'd just like to say that the other day I ran across a stick in the road and it turned out to be a copperhead. I beeped at it to get it to move. My husband reminded me that snakes don't have ears.

They're cool, but I still find them a bit intimidating. We have a corn snake and he's a great pet, very laid back and never a bit of trouble, but I still prefer that someone else get him out of his cage. My husband built him a huge cage that attaches to his aquarium with hamster trails, so Maizie can crawl around, up, down, and coil about things. He seems to like it.

 

Do I like snakes? It depends if they bite or not. Snakes that don't bite are cool, they just slide everywhere and are all round friendly creatures. Snakes that bite - well, that's definately a no-go (obviously).
