Do you like the title "Revenge of the Sith"?

Yeah, its cool. It fits with ROTJ.

 

How could you not like it?

Think about it, Attack of the Clones?

That titled sucked

 

Brought this one out of the woodwork. I loved it, if nothing else than because ROTJ was originally titled "Revenge of the Jedi" rather than "Return" but GL thought that was not what the Jedi stoof for and changed it. Kinda shows the difference between the two groups (Sith and Jedi) and their priorities

 

Actually, yes. I was relieved when I figured it wasn't as self-contradicting as the title Attack of the Clones, which the clones never did do. They defended.

its really the only non embarrasing title in the PT

 

I think the title would have held more weight if a better background was given on the Sith describing some of their origins and history. I'm not suggesting it should have been a different title but more info on the Sith would have made it better IMO.

 

I actually like all 6 titles. The more the release of the PT's are behind us, the more they've all grown on me.

 

I like the title...

despite being a great target for "witty" variations from bashers.

 

I also like all of the titles. I was a bit underwhelmed by the announcement of Episode III's title, but that's just because I saw it coming, whereas the other PT titles were surprises to me. I actually think The Phantom Menace might be my favorite title in the saga, but they all have great points.

TPM - can refer to many different things, perfectly encapsulates the whole theme throughout the movie where things seem light and happy but are really about to get seriously dark (the end sequence is the best example of this, but it's present throughout, I feel).
AOTC - great for its campiness and evocation of the old serials. Although I agree that the clones aren't really attacking, it does make sense "from a certain point of view." This is the first time they're seen action, and they will be a major part of the downfall of the Republic.
ROTS - it's what the prequels are all about. A perfect title, since this is what the films so far have been leading up to. Maul's comment in TPM springs to mind.
ANH - pretty straightforward. We can get a bit more optimistic after things went so badly in the last installment.
TESB - again, great campiness. Highlights the continuing back and forth nature of the Rebellion.
ROTJ - can refer to several different things, and highlights the key point that the Jedi are not out for revenge like the Sith.

I also like the way that the titles contrast with each other in the I-IV, II-V, III-VI way.

 

Actually, they did attack the Droid Army and started the Clone Wars. So technically, they did attack since they launched the opening salvo in a galactic war.

 

I agree with sinister. They attacked the droid army and separatists with ferocity.

 

Exactly - the Clones were brought to Geonosis, it was, to all intents and purposes, a military invasion...

 

They didn't start the war, it was a "preemptive strike" to quote the president

 

I'll chime in on this resurrect too. In classic Marv Albert fashion, "Ee-Yeess!"
I love the homage to the original ROTJ title, and it makes much better sense in context
with Sith.

 

yeh i love it. i think its a great title, but i agree with the earlier comment of more background on the sith would have been (maybe) helpful. like in epI anakin could ask qui gon. "master yoda mentioned "the sith" who are they" along the midichlorians line of conversation. but i think its a great name.

also for ROTJ i heard it mentioned somewhere that the title may have been, return of THE jedi, as in, anakin. dunno though. i think it links well with. "revenge of the sith" the sith take revenge and come to power..."return of the jedi" the jedi come back and defeat the sith

 

Defiantely one of the best segments in the Star Wars Saga. It has everything in it and it made me cry. Plus it's the bridge that holds the gap between the PT & OT.
