Do you like the title "Revenge of the Sith"?

I love it, it's better than "Cats." I'm going to see it again and again.



I can't believe this landslide voting here. Seems most TF.N fans are in agreement. If only this Fall's election could work out this way.

 

I can't say I like it. I think something like "Rise of the Empire" would be a bit more impending. "Revenge of the Sith" just rings a bit stupidly with me.

 

I like it, so I voted yes. However, when I talk to people about this I am almost embarrased to say it. They all look at me like. . . Huh?? What the heck?

Before it was the title, I didn't think all that highly of it, you know, just another "fanboy dream" that Lucas would probably not go with. However, I was completely and utterly wrong (this rarely happens, you guys were around to witness a miracle), and now that it really is the title and I've seen it as an official logo, I couldn't be more happier with it.

Hmmmm... For almost getting completely eradicated by the Jedi a millenium ago perhaps?


I dont think that this backstory has been flushed out nearly enough thus far to give the "revenge" thing marquee status. In TPM we learn that the jedi thought the sith were extinct and Darth Maul wants to take revenge on the jedi - but that's it. Then in AOTC Obi Wan learns of Count Doodu's discontent with the current situation in the galaxy - but that's not what they're taking revenge for - or is it? Would it be too much to ask to make a brief flashback sequence so the audience knows exactly the nature of the offense that the sith want to take revenge for? Or even just a little more dialogue about it? Or even a few lines in the opening scroll?? The OT doesn't shed any more light on this situation either and aside from that, the word 'sith' isn't even uttered once in the OT - and now it's important enough to be put in a movie title? i think the whole thing is bunk :\

 

When I read the bit about Access Hollywood or one of those shows asking about the fan-speculated titles and GL shied away from Revenge of the Sith I was pretty sure at that point (a month and a half ago) that it was going to be the title. I loved it then, it harkens back to the OT and lets GL use his Revenge title, so what if it's another "of the" title, it shows, title alone, that E3 is going to be a tour de DARK force!

It's...perfect.

The parallels with Return of the Jedi are a treat, as I'm sure the film itself will mimic.

 

This Is the Title I ALways knew it would be... It is like I am living in a dual state in time... it's 1985 and 2005 all at once...

 

Man, I take a few days off and the sith hits the fan! I liked the title ever since it was first suggested. That and Rise of the Empire. No big deal. They could call it "Episode 3: Palps and his gangsta's drinkin' da juice -n- rappin in da hood" and I'd still probably go see it. Probably not on opening night though...

Although I didn't like the idea of all the "of the" titles in the saga, "Revenge of the Sith" is such a perfect title that "Attack of the Clones" seems like the one with an unncessary "of the".

The first title I've liked in the prequels. It is as it should be.

 

I absolutly love the title. Once I read all of the names of the movies together it was awesome!

Seriously, the time for being a geek and thinking there are "rules" to how titles are chosen is a horrible way to be. And now, finally, those "rules" have been ultiamtely proven to mean absolutely nothing, as some of us said all along.
